In His time

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

In His time, He made you a blessing
Created to bless
Because you are a blessing
From an overflowing source that never dries up
Flowing through you for the benefit of God’s children
Placed close to you by God
To receive His many blessings
Through you, His conduit

Are you flowing or receiving only?
When you should be receiving and flowing
To ensure a continuous flow
Beloved, speed up the flow
By being always a blessing

Shalom

ACT, DO SOMETHING

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Healing come in diverse forms. Sometimes, Jesus the Healer requires you to act. He asked the man at the pool to rise, take up his bed and walk, in essence; act, do something by and for yourself to get out of the unpalatable predicament that ideally should not be your portion but which you have gotten used to because there appears to be sufficient justification for the excuses you make. For instance, the man at the pool complained of having no one to put him in the pool when the water was stirred coupled with his inability to get in to the pool before the other supposedly smarter people. He did not mention the fact that he was sluggish and his sluggishness was the reason he could not get into the pool before the supposedly other smarter people at the pool.

The man at the pool was comfortable; in point of fact very comfortable with his situation at the pool. To put it mildly, he had come to love the situation as it helped him to excuse away his destiny in addition to unknowingly celebrating his weaknesses. Weaknesses, you may ask! Certainly and quite a number! For instance, he loved to depend on people; to have people do for him what he could actually do for himself if only he put his mind to it. For example, he could actually find creative ways of getting into the pool without the assistance of anyone if he was really determined to do so. But like Professor Lazy who always comes up with a dozen excuses for not tilling his land when he should – a fierce lion was parading the street in desperate search of Professor Lazy; his body aching from inactivity required a little rest, a little sleep: the man at the pool hung at the pool for thirty eight years waiting for someone to put him in the pool.

God is Good

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Goodness is a cardinal nature of God and His character. Please see Psalm 34 verse 8 and Romans Chapter 8 verse 28. God is good and causes all things through providence to work together for good to His children just so that His children accomplish divine purposes. This implies that some seeming negative experiences are actually stepping stones that enable you to stretch your potentials and become a blessing to humanity. Some difficult tests in different aspects of life are also designed to prepare and transform you until you become who and what God planned for you from the foundation of the world. Therefore, capitalize on and take advantage of both the challenges that assail you and the opportunities that show up through the challenges as they engender transformation. Please see Jeremiah Chapter 29 verse 11.

Do not give up or give in as capitulating will truncate the transformation process and you will never arrive at the desired destination. The Master of the universe is in perfect control of everything in the universe. He knows how to reverse everything for your sake. Israel went to Egypt for bread but when they left, they had an abundance of silver and gold. Please see Exodus Chapter 12 verse 31, Proverbs Chapter 3 verses 5 to 8.

In point of fact, if you can see the mind of God concerning you, you will be too amazed to ever think that God does not care about you. In fact, you will be trumpeting God’s goodness globally. Open your mouth and declare God’s faithfulness in your life. God is still faithful. He does not change. God can still furnish a table in the wilderness. He can change your situation suddenly. He can do much more than you could ever ask. It is not about what people can do but what God can do.

Do Not Fear

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Fear incapacitates, immobilizes, stagnates and brings about loss of vision and direction. Fear is a tool that the enemy enjoys using against believers to truncate the plans and purposes of God in their lives. A number of Biblical examples include:

The use of fear against the army of Israel by Goliath is an interesting case study. Through Goliath’s intimidating stature and boastful words, the devil succeeded in instilling fear in the hearts of the soldiers of Israel. A well equipped and well prepared army of hundreds of thousands able men who left their homes to fight the Philistine army cowered in fright because Goliath, a giant boasted of his might. What a shame especially when a mere youth who had never served in the army brought Goliath down. So it was not necessarily Goliath’s stature that incapacitated and immobilized the army of Israel. It was the fear he spewed out through his intimidating words. Please see 1st Samuel Chapter 17.

Fear was also the reason Lot took a decision to go live in a cave in the mountains instead of Zoar where he escaped to safety from Sodom and Gomorrah. Living in a cave alone with two grown up daughters led to the incestuous union that produced Moab and Ammon. Fear births wrong decisions.

The Israelites at a time in their history threshed wheat in winepresses because they were afraid of the Midianites whose pastime was to destroy the livelihoods of the Israelites in order to impoverish them. God empowered Gideon with great faith to overcome fear and destroy the Midianites. Please see Judges Chapter 6.

Keep Your Gates Open

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Therefore your gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day or night, that men may bring to you the wealth of the Gentiles, and their kings in procession. Isaiah Chapter 60 verse 11.
There is a correlation between open gates and wealth, abundance, prestige, honor, favor.
Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call [thee] by thy name, [am] the God of Israel. Isaiah Chapter 45 verses 1 to 3.

Open gates symbolize progress while shut gates symbolize lack of progress, stagnation and retrogression. The people of Jericho probably understood this which explains why they shut the gates of the city of Jericho against the children of Israel enroute to Canaan. The closure of the gates in order not to allow the children of Israel passage meant that the children of Israel would wait endlessly and ultimately die of hunger and thirst without ever getting to Canaan. But God intervened in their situation and they made progress to Canaan.

When the enemy shuts out certain gates against you, it is for the purpose of frustrating you, bringing you to  appoint of doubt and sometimes unbelief and when you stagnate in doubt and unbelief, you retrogress into what the devil and his cohorts wants; which is absolute mistrust of God and His word so that you walk in the ways of the devil and become an enemy of God.  The ultimate purpose of this is destruction.

Advance Like a Lion

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

The lion is described in Proverbs Chapter 30 verse 30 as a n animal that moves with stately bearing, moving majestically. This is to say that the lion always walks majestically. It is also described as mighty among beasts and does not retreat before anyone or anything.

The lion fights through every opposition until victory is assured even if it has to devour the opposition. Please see Numbers Chapters 23 verse 24 and 24 verse 9.

The lion is neither afraid nor disturbed by the noise of a multitude of shepherds when it roars over its prey. Please see Isaiah Chapter 31 verse 4.

The journey to self discovery, personal development, relationship management, wealth creation, grooming, ethics and values as well as successful Christian living is usually fraught with challenges that if well managed constitute stepping stones. Some of the challenges include lack of faith, doubts, self doubt, fear, confusion, worry and anxiety, poor self image, wrong conditioning, wrong environment, limiting mindsets, ignorance, negative past experiences, refusal to let go of the past, unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment, threats and intimidation.

To advance like a lion in the journey of life means that you have to comport yourself like royalty, moving majestically irrespective of what the circumstances are. Additionally, do not turn back in fear before anyone or situation or circumstance or anything. Let nothing intimidate you into retreating or surrendering. Always advance like a lion so that you are always exercising dominion as God ordained for you from the foundation of the world. Please see Genesis Chapter 1 verse 28, Psalm 110 verse 2. Do not be intimidated, afraid, or disturbed by any conspiracy or unholy alliances because God will cause all such conspiracies and alliances to self destruct in Jesus mighty name. Please see Isaiah Chapter 8 verses 9 to 12, 2nd Chronicles Chapter 20, Numbers Chapter 23 and Lamentations Chapter 3 verse 37.

Do not Limit God

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Is it possible to limit God? Yes. How? By acting in the flesh, ( Psalm 78 verses 41, 9 to 11), by fretting over the future, by complaining, murmuring and grumbling as well as trusting in the arm of flesh.

A mindset characterized by worry and anxiety cannot inherit the promises of God. This is because such a mindset is besieged by fear, lack of faith and trust in the ability of God to do the seemingly impossible. Such a mindset will neither see nor perceive the goodness of God. Neither seeing nor perceiving culminates in not receiving either. God's goodness and mercies will continually pass you by (Matthew Chapter 6 verses 23 to 24).

You probably skimp and worry about tomorrow because you have no idea what lies ahead, whether there will be provision or not. Besides, you are used to lack and having to beg and borrow, and worry, never having peace. But the Owner and Creator of tomorrow, God the FATHER, Jehovah Nissi says,

“let not your heart be troubled. I own tomorrow. I created tomorrow and significantly you, so that you can function in my plans and purposes for tomorrow. Why then should I abandon you to tomorrow without my plans and strategy for you to make it through and beyond tomorrow to so many other tomorrows. All you need do is abide in Me, cling to Me, and you have My plans and strategy for a greater tomorrow and many other tomorrows”.

When a person internalizes doubts to the point of not only expressing them but allowing the doubts to guide and mislead him or her; resulting in loss of faith and confidence in God, the person limits God because at that point, unbelief has set in (Matthew Chapter 13 verses 54 to 58). However, if you choose to trust God and believe Him for good to come your way, then you will experience and enjoy incredible and astounding good things from God. God uses His word to make a way where there is no way. God watches over His word to perform His word and not your fears, worries and anxieties.

Bask in His Favor

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Favor comes from God and significantly, the favor of God comes with numerous blessings that elevate a person from the ash heap of life to limelight, significance and honor. Esther was favored by God and became Queen. The favor of God elevates. Therefore, take advantage of God’s favor in your life to do exploits that will elevate you beyond your present position in life.
The favor of God comes with myriad blessings that are spiritual, physical, mental, financial, intellectual, etc. Beloved, God does not consult human beings before blessing His children with favor. He gives His favor to those who fear Him and honor Him. Keep loving Him and honoring Him so that you will experience immeasurable favor from Him. You will also be favored by God to become who God created you to be.

The favor of God also comes with the divine responsibility of accomplishing divine purposes. A number of young people enjoyed the favor of God in the Bible but they also used the favor to accomplish great things for God. Joseph, Daniel, Esther and Nehemiah were greatly favored by God and served the purposes of God for their lives.

As a child of God, you are divinely favored to do exploit for God and humanity through the gifts of God in you. Therefore, maximize the gifts of God in you and succeed through the favor of God so that you become an inspiration and blessing to other people. Start today what you have to do and experience God’s encompassing favor as you step out in faith. Do not neglect the gift that is in you…. 1st Timothy Chapter 4 verse 14.

Your Hope is Not Lost

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Hope is lost when you give up. But when you do not give up, you will always have hope. As long as you are born again, your hope cannot be lost. Ecclesiastes Chapter 9 verse 4. As long as you are a child of God, you can never get to the point of hopelessness. Please see Romans Chapter 4 verses 19 to 22. Therefore, keep hope alive because hope is what strengthens faith. Your hope is raw material for change.

Abraham disregarded the contrary opinions and reports though facts and chose to believe the word of God. The facts should therefore never overwrite the truth. Rather, the truth of the Word of God should always overwrite the facts no matter how strong the facts appear. Please see Zechariah Chapter 8 verse 12, Ezekiel Chapter 36 verses 29 to 30.

God will always come through. His word always comes through. His word always comes to pass no matter how long it appears. Therefore, anchor your faith and trust in the word of God. Anytime God wants to do the impossible, He sends His word. God knows your location, your specifications, your desires, and your needs. There is never an error message with Him. Mary yielded to the word of God – Luke Chapter 1 verse 38, Romans Chapter 4 verses 19 to 20. Wait and trust on the promises of God rather than run helter, skelter and end up with spiritualists. Believe the simplicity of the word of God rather than the carefully orchestrated manipulations of people. 2nd Kings Chapter 4 verses 1 to 7.Walk in the truth of God’s word and live in the consciousness of the truth. It is the truth of the word of God that will give you the victory you need in every area of life.

Break with the Past

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Break with the past. Do not allow the past to hold you back. Do not expend your energy trying to fix what does not work. The past cannot be changed. Stop holding on to the past; do not allow your past bleed into your present to change your future. Do not allow the past to misdirect your life. The potential, the success inside you is greater than the previous and present successes you have experienced – Isaiah Chapter 43 verses 18 to 19.Therefore, do not let either past successes or adversity stop you from being the best you can be. Don’t let life make you change your name. Simply learn the lessons required from the past.

Be optimistic. Trust God when it looks like things are going backwards. Get to the point where you can trust God to let things go. It takes great peace to accept the times you are in. You may be aborting your own prophecies because you are trying to save what God has already cut off. Some blessings are seasonal blessings and once such seasons are over, you let go. God brings people into your life to do certain things. When their assignment is over, let them go and move on. The plan is a process leading to the purpose. Therefore, celebrate the new relationships in your life as well as what God is doing in your life now.

Run Away from Strife and Contention

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Contentions start with words, snowball into the strife of tongues and escalate to fisticuffs and who knows what next – sorcery as in the case of Moab, murder as in the case Cain and Abel, Joseph and his brothers, Daniel and the satraps, Haman and Mordecai.

Strife and contention are akin to thorns and weeds in a farm that pierce the plants, compete for nourishment and space for growth. Strife and contention is the same as thorns piercing the plants – daily strife and contention can erode confidence, faith and determination as well as courage, the same function thorns perform to choke out life from plants. Strife and contention can wear out your resolve to excel which explains why the best solution to strife and contention is to always walk away from the strife and contention. Like weeds, they also contend for space in your mental processes - introducing bile such as anger, resentment, bitterness, unforgiveness that if not wisely and instantly thrown out can block out productive, fruitful, spiritually, physically, mentally and financially rewarding mental processes. So rather than pay attention to your field, you expend energies fighting battles you should not be fighting because you are paying attention to strife and contention.

Isaac avoided contentions. Rather than contend with the Philistines who closed up the wells dug by his father, he dug new wells and when the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac’s herdsmen over the new wells, Isaac and his herdsmen dug other wells and when there was no more contention over the new well, Isaac named the new well ‘Rehoboth’ meaning God has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.

Function in the Realm of Possibilities

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

God is the God of possibilities and He is the only one who makes impossibilities possible.

There are endeavors that sometimes appear impossible but which become possible when a person with the right attitude determines to make them possible. This happens when a person believes in his or herself that s/he can do it because his or her natural human faith has been exercised to do it. This means that if you believe that you can achieve your dreams and move to Success Street, then you can do it. However, you will need to have confidence in yourself by believing in you and your abilities. This requires a healthy self esteem that celebrates God’s divine deposits in you which are your competitive advantage to excel and be successful in life. Therefore give yourself great latitudes of beauty in who you are and what you can do. Celebrate YOU and stay in your area of strength. That is where you can always excel and outshine your competition. Check out all the successful people you know and you will discover that they honed their abilities and stayed in their areas of strengths.

However, there are impossibilities that you must turn to God who alone makes impossibilities possible. To do this you will have to develop supernatural faith which is distinct from natural faith. Supernatural faith is distinct from natural faith because it is the faith that God works with to turn any conceivable impossibility to possibility. Supernatural faith believes God, the Word of God and activates the power in the Word by speaking the Word to actualize the precious promises of God to you in the Bible. That was the faith Moses exercised in his negotiations with Pharaoh as well as the many miracles the Israelites experienced in the wilderness.

Water Your Seeds for Consistent Harvests

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him  Psalm 126 verses 5 to 6 NKJV

Consistent seed planting activates and ensures consistent harvests. However, every planted seed on good soils require watering irrespective of how great the soils are and the quality of the seeds are. Planting cannot stand alone. It must be watered. Besides, God expects you to be an active participant in His processes concerning you. Your active participation is the watering process.

To water is to nurture, care for, and protect to develop the seeds while they are growing. When you plant a seed, you do not sit down to wait for it to germinate and bear fruit without doing anything. You have to care for it – Luke Chapter 8 verse 15, Proverbs Chapter 24 verses 24 to 30, and Isaiah Chapter 5 verses 1 to 7.  Some of such watering programs include but are not limited to:

Prayer – accompany your planted seed with fervent prayers for the will of God to be done in your land – Zechariah Chapter 8 verse 12, Isaiah Chapter 30 verse 23. Consistent praying will dislodge every opposition to your harvests.

Understanding of the word of God – inadequate or complete lack of understanding of the word of God can impact your harvests negatively as you may be tempted to believe the lie of the enemy that God will not bless your seed to prosper and produce bumper harvests. However, opportunities increase as your understanding of the Word increases and this brings about productivity and fruitfulness, a function of your understanding of the word of God. Make a conscious effort to understand the word of God. You can ask the Holy Spirit to help you – Psalm 119 verse 144.
