Therefore your gates shall be open continually; they
shall not be shut day or night, that men may bring to you the wealth of the
Gentiles, and their kings in procession. Isaiah Chapter 60 verse 11.
There is a
correlation between open gates and wealth, abundance, prestige, honor, favor.
Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose
right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the
loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall
not be shut; I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I
will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret
places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call [thee] by thy name,
[am] the God of Israel. Isaiah Chapter 45 verses 1 to 3.
Open gates
symbolize progress while shut gates symbolize lack of progress, stagnation and
retrogression. The people of Jericho probably understood this which explains
why they shut the gates of the city of Jericho against the children of Israel
enroute to Canaan. The closure of the gates in order not to allow the children
of Israel passage meant that the children of Israel would wait endlessly and
ultimately die of hunger and thirst without ever getting to Canaan. But God
intervened in their situation and they made progress to Canaan.
When the enemy
shuts out certain gates against you, it is for the purpose of frustrating you,
bringing you to appoint of doubt and
sometimes unbelief and when you stagnate in doubt and unbelief, you retrogress
into what the devil and his cohorts wants; which is absolute mistrust of God
and His word so that you walk in the ways of the devil and become an enemy of
God. The ultimate purpose of this is
destruction.
Such gates shut
by the enemy usually require divine intervention varying from fervent
intercession, supplications, thanksgiving and praises to God.
There are
certain shut gates and doors that only quality praise to God unlocks. Anytime
the enemy shuts the gates of quality praise to God against you through
situations that make you worry, anxious, afraid and doubts and unbelief sets
in, it is that the enemy has a hidden; albeit evil agenda against you, to cut
you off from God, attack you and destroy you. But if are quick to spot this by
the leading of the Holy Spirit and you give God quality praise, the windows of
heaven are thrown wide open in your favor and thanksgiving you cannot explain
flows from you to God on account of the numerous overflowing blessings God
showers on you.
Beloved, God
loves you and desires to do you good. He has wonderful plans for you. Please
see Jeremiah Chapter 29 verse 11. Release those plans through quality praise to
God. Praise is a prayer weapon that opens doors and gates in the realm of the
spirit. Significantly, praise is not purchased with money. You do not need to
go to a special place to praise God. You can praise Him even in your bedroom
and the praise will ascend to God. Moreover, the Bible says that God inhabits
the praises of His people. You do not need musical instruments to praise God.
All you need is a heart filled with praise. Start praising God now and praise
