Your Hope is Not Lost

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Hope is lost when you give up. But when you do not give up, you will always have hope. As long as you are born again, your hope cannot be lost. Ecclesiastes Chapter 9 verse 4. As long as you are a child of God, you can never get to the point of hopelessness. Please see Romans Chapter 4 verses 19 to 22. Therefore, keep hope alive because hope is what strengthens faith. Your hope is raw material for change.

Abraham disregarded the contrary opinions and reports though facts and chose to believe the word of God. The facts should therefore never overwrite the truth. Rather, the truth of the Word of God should always overwrite the facts no matter how strong the facts appear. Please see Zechariah Chapter 8 verse 12, Ezekiel Chapter 36 verses 29 to 30.

God will always come through. His word always comes through. His word always comes to pass no matter how long it appears. Therefore, anchor your faith and trust in the word of God. Anytime God wants to do the impossible, He sends His word. God knows your location, your specifications, your desires, and your needs. There is never an error message with Him. Mary yielded to the word of God – Luke Chapter 1 verse 38, Romans Chapter 4 verses 19 to 20. Wait and trust on the promises of God rather than run helter, skelter and end up with spiritualists. Believe the simplicity of the word of God rather than the carefully orchestrated manipulations of people. 2nd Kings Chapter 4 verses 1 to 7.Walk in the truth of God’s word and live in the consciousness of the truth. It is the truth of the word of God that will give you the victory you need in every area of life.

Disappointments are inevitable in life but discouragement and hopelessness is a choice. Refuse to be discouraged and hopeless. Your subsequent mindset derives from the positivity or negativity inside of you; therefore take charge over discouragement and hopelessness. Joseph was a skillful carpenter who must have prepared a well made cot or bed for his son. But the socio political events of the day placed him somewhere else where there was no bed. There Jesus was born. That Jesus was born in a manger was all part of God’s plan for announcing the birth of Jesus Christ. Despite where He was born, His birth was heralded and celebrated by both angels and humans. Significantly, the manger was a one off experience. Jesus did not return there. Do not kill yourself over things that can change tomorrow. While trusting God for and working out a better tomorrow, celebrate the present. Sometimes, in life, you take what is available and turn it to preferable. Joy is attitudinal.

Restructuring is an ongoing process. Businesses will always downsize. When you are sacked, it is your services that are no longer required but your innate value, skills and expertise are still yours and can be put to greater value elsewhere. How will you react if you are sacked?  Do not burn the bridges. Treat everyone with respect. The employment system works by referrals. You may need to pass that way again to get to the pinnacle of your career. When life throws you out, find a way to throw yourself in. if someone does not say no to you, you will not learn to say yes to yourself.

Most times, opportunities always come packaged as challenges. Therefore, response to challenges is very critical. Jephthah for instance maintained a right attitude after he was thrown out by his brothers. Jephthah did not walk out of the door the wrong way. He acquired military prowess and one day his services were required by the same people who threw him out. Was Jephthah bitter and hopeless? Perhaps at the initial stage but Jephthah did not stay bitter.
Bitterness stifles and kills creativity. If you stay bitter, you will not recognize opportunities even when they shake hands with you. Creativity is enhanced by pressures which explain why pressure can be performance enhancing. Pressure is a privilege. Diamonds are pressurized carbons. Jephthah had the ability to bounce back. He used the expertise he had acquired to negotiate the leadership of his people. Jephthah did not retreat. He only advanced in another direction. Mental capacities can be expanded if only you will advance in several directions. Sometimes, what you are told you are not is what you are actually designed to be.

Therefore, do not stay there until you are counted out. You can rise above any adversity life throws at you. Dust up your shoes and move in fresh directions. Jacob was sacked by Esau. He advanced in another direction and became who God said he would be. Refuse to internalize rejection. Rather, smile through life as you learn how to contain news whether good or bad.
The drought is over in Jesus mighty name.
