God Heals the Broken Hearted

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Broken heartedness is an ailment that can cause a lot of degeneration in the body and the mind if left untreated. Fortunately, God heals broken heartedness. The case of Hannah the mother of Prophet Samuel best illustrates the instance of perverse tongue and unmet desires culminating in a broken spirit. Please see 1st Samuel Chapter 1 verses 1 to 8, and 15.  Peninah’s perverse use of her tongue on Hannah was designed to make Hannah miserable and to an extent, Peninah succeeded. Hannah was broken hearted as Peninah’s frequent recourse to taunting and mocking Hannah with the fact that Hannah was childless hit a sore point in Hannah. Hannah was so broken hearted that she wept, refused food because her heart was grieved. But one day, Hannah decided to rise above the heartache, the pain and sorrow of childlessness that was usually heightened by Peninah’s taunts and mockery especially in the house of the Lord. Hannah took the bull by the horns and made a deal with God who could help her. Though Peninah made Hannah’s life bitter, Hannah realized that Peninah was not her problem. Hannah’s problem was childlessness which God; the El Shaddai Who said that none would be barren in His house could easily solve. So Hannah ignored and left perverse tongued Peninah to meet with God and make a deal with God. Can you beat that! ‘God, give me a male child to take away the reproach of childlessness and that child is all yours.’ Great bargaining power for a deeply broken hearted woman to whom weeping and hunger strike had become a way of life. Fortunately, God not only heard her words but took note of the terms of the contract. Significantly, Hannah was still broken hearted even while making the deal. Her response to the priest Eli testifies to this. Please see verses 15 to 16 of 1st Samuel Chapter 1.

Beloved, truthfulness accelerates and perfects every healing process. Please see Luke Chapter 8 verses 43 to 48 for details of the woman with the issue of blood who publicly admitted to touching the hem of Jesus’ garment because of the affliction of unceasing blood flow for twelve years. The word of peace came from the Prince of Peace and she was completely whole. The widow of the indebted prophet acknowledged the financial situation of the family and was set free. Hannah’s admission of the grief and sorrow in her heart prompted the Priest Eli to pronounce the blessings of peace and answered prayers on her. Hannah was comforted because the Bible records in verse 18 that she was no longer sad. Joy unspeakable was birthed in her spirit and not quite long, Hannah conceived and bore Samuel, the beginning of unnumbered comforts. How? Hannah kept her own side of the bargain and returned Samuel to God and God who always rewards in multiples gave Hannah additional children – three sons and two daughters. Please see 2nd Samuel Chapter 2 verses 20 to 21. Indeed, a good report always brings healing to the brokenhearted.

Advance Like a Lion

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

The lion is described in Proverbs Chapter 30 verse 30 as a n animal that moves with stately bearing, moving majestically. This is to say that the lion always walks majestically. It is also described as mighty among beasts and does not retreat before anyone or anything.

The lion fights through every opposition until victory is assured even if it has to devour the opposition. Please see Numbers Chapters 23 verse 24 and 24 verse 9.

The lion is neither afraid nor disturbed by the noise of a multitude of shepherds when it roars over its prey. Please see Isaiah Chapter 31 verse 4.

The journey to self discovery, personal development, relationship management, wealth creation, grooming, ethics and values as well as successful Christian living is usually fraught with challenges that if well managed constitute stepping stones. Some of the challenges include lack of faith, doubts, self doubt, fear, confusion, worry and anxiety, poor self image, wrong conditioning, wrong environment, limiting mindsets, ignorance, negative past experiences, refusal to let go of the past, unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment, threats and intimidation.

To advance like a lion in the journey of life means that you have to comport yourself like royalty, moving majestically irrespective of what the circumstances are. Additionally, do not turn back in fear before anyone or situation or circumstance or anything. Let nothing intimidate you into retreating or surrendering. Always advance like a lion so that you are always exercising dominion as God ordained for you from the foundation of the world. Please see Genesis Chapter 1 verse 28, Psalm 110 verse 2. Do not be intimidated, afraid, or disturbed by any conspiracy or unholy alliances because God will cause all such conspiracies and alliances to self destruct in Jesus mighty name. Please see Isaiah Chapter 8 verses 9 to 12, 2nd Chronicles Chapter 20, Numbers Chapter 23 and Lamentations Chapter 3 verse 37.

Elevate Your Tastes

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Where you are presently, no matter how seemingly satisfying it is; is a place of transition. You have to keep moving up the ladder, updating yourself spiritually, physically, martially, intellectually, emotionally, financially and materially. You should continue to add color to every area of your life. For instance, you are obligated to dress to match the position and resources God placed at your disposal. A person’s dressence and grooming to a large extent is a reflection of where the person is headed in life. Some cuts and style of clothes reflect rigidity and a refusal to move with the times. Such people are usually stuck in their ways and will not move in any new direction. In some cases, it is as a result of ignorance or lack. Once such people are empowered, they will move in the new direction God wants them to move in.

Be open to fresh unctions, changes from God. Change is a constant and necessary ingredient for progress. Change your methods to match who and where you are. It is time to move up the ladder. Move out of limiting environments, relationships and circumstances at the speed of light. Identify what God does not want you to carry into the new things He is doing in your life. They could be fear, doubt, disempowering relationships, limiting thought patterns, study habits, eating habits, etc. For instance, when experience becomes tradition, it becomes dangerous because experience boxed in becomes bags of limitations.

Therefore, innovate, create and impact through possibility thinking, possibility speaking and possibility implementation to get to the top and stay at the top where you will be celebrated. There is an anointing for staying at the top. Get the anointing, get to the top and remain there. Make your stay at the top permanent. Get there and stay there. Stop coming back to ignorance, obscurity and mediocrity.

One way of making your stay at the top permanent is to expand the time you spend with God. That is the start point for elevating your tastes. Spend more time with God in the closet. Operate a more organized prayer life that should become the norm in your life. A diligent and fervent prayer life on a daily basis that is not by might nor by power but by the Spirit of God is what you require. Please see James Chapter 5 verses 16 to 18. A fervent prayer life is one of the keys that will improve and elevate your taste. Pray more, study the Bible more, talk less – prophesy when God wants you to and keep quiet when you are not prophesying. Grow spiritually in prayer, word study, praise/worship, evangelism, intercession. As you continue serious and sincere in prayer, be very careful to notice any signs of danger or trouble and give thanks. Be alert, be devoted, have a thankful heart (Colossians Chapter 4 verse 2).

Define Your Environment

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Joseph was born a five talent person - a dreamer of dreams, an interpreter of dreams and situations, blessed with the divine gift of solving problems and creating order out of chaos. Significantly, God was with him and he had divine favor.

Unfortunately for Joseph, he was born and raised in a one talent environment devoid of the nurturing processes and care to express and utilize his five talents for the actualization of divine purposes. Additionally, Joseph talked endlessly about his talents and future goals by sharing his dreams of global leadership with one talent people accustomed to one talent environments, consciousness and mentality. This attracted the envy of his brothers who did not understand then that the potentials for global leadership and greatness were not dependent on the biological position of seniority which the birthright of the first son automatically conferred on the first son as the leader of the pack of the sons. They were therefore very angry with Joseph, became very envious of him to the point of hating him and refusing to speak with him. In their one talent environment, mentality and consciousness, Joseph was cheeky and a threat to their leadership security. As time wore on and events unfolded, their hatred grew to the point where they wanted Joseph dead. But for the intervention of Reuben, Joseph would have been killed by his blood brothers simply because of their one talent mentality, consciousness and environment.
Eventually Joseph was sold into slavery, still by his brothers. Yet Joseph never for once allowed his environment to define him. He refused to be subjected to a one talent person even in a one talent environment ruled by a one talent consciousness and mentality. Joseph treasured his five talents and allowed them to shine. In no time, Potiphar noticed and immediately acted. Joseph was promoted Chief of Staff above everyone he met in Potiphar’s house. But even then, Potiphar’s house was not the five talent environment God had for Joseph. Therefore challenges that would orchestrate his movement to the five talent environment showed up and Joseph was moved to prison. Was this promotion or demotion? Joseph again defined the environment. He did not allow prison and the unfortunate circumstances he found himself in to define him. Rather, he defined the environment, his five talents shone through and he enjoyed privileges in prison.

Celebrate You

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Why?

You are fearfully and wonderfully made – Psalm 137 verses 14 to 18. This speaks of gratitude to God for who you are, how He created you and why He created you. David understood this and that explains he was unusually confident, celebrated himself and excelled, and prospered wherever he went. I pray that God will help you to see who you are so that you can place the right value on you and celebrate you accordingly in Jesus mighty name.

God loves you and gave up his only begotten son so that you can be reconciled to Him. Please see John Chapter 3 verse 16, 4 verses 9 to 11, 16, 19 and Jeremiah Chapter 31 verse 3.

You are special to God. Please see Deuteronomy Chapter 7 verses 6 to 8.

God is mindful of you and takes care of you. Please see Hebrews Chapter 2 verses 6 to 8, Psalm 8 verses 1 to 9.

God crowned you with glory and honor . Please see Psalm 8 verse 5.

God visits you to expand and increase you, restore life to you. Please see psalm 8 verse 4, Genesis Chapter 21 verse 1, Ruth Chapter 1 verse 6, Luke Chapter 1 verses 68, 78, 7 verse 16, 1st Samuel Chapter 2 verse 21.

God gave you dominion over the works of His hands. Please see Genesis Chapter 1 verses 26 to 28, Psalm 8 verses 6 to 9.

God inscribed you on the palms of His hands and your walls are continually before Him which explains why He cannot forget you. Please see Isaiah Chapters 49 verses 13 to 16, 44 verse 21 and 1st Samuel Chapter 1 verses 19 to 20.
