Gain Altitude

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

To gain altitude is to rise above certain levels beyond sea level. Planes gain altitude. So also do birds. In like manner, a person can also gain altitude in the journey of life. Such ascents could be spiritual, physical, mental or even financial. Therefore, gain attitude in knowledge, understanding, wisdom, relationships despite what the enemy whose major agenda is to prevent you from rising may do. Remember that believers are often targets of satanic opposition.
Altitude takes you ahead of the pack. One of the ways to gain altitude is to be financially resourceful and savvy so that you can manage financial resources to advantage and expansion.
Also make very determined and conscious efforts on a daily basis to become the global change agent God created you to be. Stop fighting battles that are not yours especially insignificant battles that will move you nowhere.

Use the current resources at your disposal to move from where you are now to where God wants you to be. One of such resources is the word of God. The word of God has the capacity to elevate you and take out of the dust and ash heap as well as obscure positions of life to significance, relevance, dominance, limelight, favor, wealth and abundant life that Jesus Christ purchased for you with His precious blood. Please see John Chapter 10 verse 10.  Jesus Christ used the existing structures and platforms of the religious establishment of the day. He taught the people in their synagogues, preached from boats, on mountain tops, from street corners, healed on the streets and cast out demons on the streets. He did not wait to own or rent cathedrals before doing the work of the kingdom. How about financial autonomy? Was He dependent on the tithes and offerings of the people? Not at all! The religious establishment of the day did not acknowledge and recognize Him as a Priest, Prophet or Levite so he was exempt from the benefits of the tithe. Also, Jesus did not request for such tithes. Yet, He led and fed not only His disciples but the multitudes who followed Him. He also did not shirk His civic responsibilities. He paid taxes. How did He make the money? He asked Peter to go fishing to get the money. This implies that you can make money from your skills, talents and areas of expertise. The women who supported His ministry with their money and other resources were an additional source of income.

God Can Do It Again

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power [belongeth] unto God. Psalm 62 verse 11.
For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke Chapter 1 verse 37.

God can and will do it again; not necessarily because He wants to please you, prove to you that He is God (He does not need to do that, God is God and He is Almighty, all power belongs to Him and everything created, located wherever in the universe submits to Him and bows to His Lordship because He is God). What is impossible with humans is possible with God. God does not tell lies, is not partial and is not intimidated, by anyone or anything. Rather He cares; He loves you with a love you cannot understand and fathom its depth until you probably find yourself in Christ’s eternity.

Beloved, God loves you and needs you so that you can fulfill His high purpose designed to do you good and uplift you from the dungeons of life that the enemy of your soul wants you bound to. That is why the enemy keeps you in the miry clay of life so you will believe his lies that God does not love you and wants you to remain in the miry clay. But the truth is that God wants you out of that miry clay as fast as you are willing to get out of it if only you will allow Him to help you do it. Getting out of the miry clay is like getting out of quick sands; extremely always difficult and in most cases, always impossible except God intervenes.

Do Not Fear

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Fear incapacitates, immobilizes, stagnates and brings about loss of vision and direction. Fear is a tool that the enemy enjoys using against believers to truncate the plans and purposes of God in their lives. A number of Biblical examples include:

The use of fear against the army of Israel by Goliath is an interesting case study. Through Goliath’s intimidating stature and boastful words, the devil succeeded in instilling fear in the hearts of the soldiers of Israel. A well equipped and well prepared army of hundreds of thousands able men who left their homes to fight the Philistine army cowered in fright because Goliath, a giant boasted of his might. What a shame especially when a mere youth who had never served in the army brought Goliath down. So it was not necessarily Goliath’s stature that incapacitated and immobilized the army of Israel. It was the fear he spewed out through his intimidating words. Please see 1st Samuel Chapter 17.

Fear was also the reason Lot took a decision to go live in a cave in the mountains instead of Zoar where he escaped to safety from Sodom and Gomorrah. Living in a cave alone with two grown up daughters led to the incestuous union that produced Moab and Ammon. Fear births wrong decisions.

The Israelites at a time in their history threshed wheat in winepresses because they were afraid of the Midianites whose pastime was to destroy the livelihoods of the Israelites in order to impoverish them. God empowered Gideon with great faith to overcome fear and destroy the Midianites. Please see Judges Chapter 6.

Keep Your Gates Open

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Therefore your gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day or night, that men may bring to you the wealth of the Gentiles, and their kings in procession. Isaiah Chapter 60 verse 11.
There is a correlation between open gates and wealth, abundance, prestige, honor, favor.
Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call [thee] by thy name, [am] the God of Israel. Isaiah Chapter 45 verses 1 to 3.

Open gates symbolize progress while shut gates symbolize lack of progress, stagnation and retrogression. The people of Jericho probably understood this which explains why they shut the gates of the city of Jericho against the children of Israel enroute to Canaan. The closure of the gates in order not to allow the children of Israel passage meant that the children of Israel would wait endlessly and ultimately die of hunger and thirst without ever getting to Canaan. But God intervened in their situation and they made progress to Canaan.

When the enemy shuts out certain gates against you, it is for the purpose of frustrating you, bringing you to  appoint of doubt and sometimes unbelief and when you stagnate in doubt and unbelief, you retrogress into what the devil and his cohorts wants; which is absolute mistrust of God and His word so that you walk in the ways of the devil and become an enemy of God.  The ultimate purpose of this is destruction.

Experience Exponential Increase

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children. Psalm 115 verse 14
Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side. Psalm 71 verse 21

God called you to increase you and not to deplete you. It is the will of God to increase you and your family, your business and finances from one level of glory to another on a daily basis. That is why He says, though your beginning was small, your latter end shall be great. Therefore, anything attempting to deplete you is not of God and should be judged and destroyed in Jesus mighty name. Please see Exodus Chapter 1 verses 7 to 12, 20, Deuteronomy Chapters 7 verses 13 to 14; 8 verse 13, Genesis Chapters 13 verses 14 to 18; 17 verses 6 to 8; 28 verses 3 to 4, 13 to 15; 30 verse 43; 35 verses 9 to 12; 48 verses 3 to 4; 47 verse 27 and Psalm 80 verses 8 to 11.

Beloved, God is faithful. God who promises abundant increase after a small beginning cares about your success and is willing to help you succeed through whatever small steps you start with. Please see Proverbs Chapter 4 verse 8, Isaiah Chapter 54 verses 2 to 3, Genesis Chapters 22 verse 7, 26 verses 1 to 4 and 12 to 14. Therefore, commence whatever you are aiming at with the small steps God leads you to and trust Him to give you abundant increase as He promises in His word. It is never too late to start. God is the one who gives speed, increase and altitude. Please see Isaiah Chapter 60 verse 22. This increasing speed from God to gain altitude comes only through obedience to God. Obedience to God is a seed that germinates and fruits fast. Please, see John Chapter 15. Just as the mustard seed (as tiny as it is) took root and expanded to accommodate global visitors so will your enterprise, no matter how small it is take root and expand in Jesus mighty name. Remember His word to the people of Israel who rebuilt the temple in Haggai Chapter 2 verse 9. He alone will open all the doors; provide all the resources that you need. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that you could ever ask or think of.

Leapfrog Generational Limitations

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Generational limitations are certain limitations that run in families, institutions, communities and nations. Some of them include poverty, barrenness, idolatry, failure, obscurity, etc; and have become entrenched in families, in fact so deeply entrenched that like palm trees, they are difficult to uproot. Members of such families, institutions, communities and nations take it for granted that they can never rise above such limitations so each succeeding generation does not make any attempt or efforts to uproot the limitations. They lamely accept them and live with them.

Beloved, this is a lie from the pit of hell. You can actually leapfrog every generational limitation because God created you to succeed. The same God Who is the King of kings and Lord of lords Who knows that you can rise above whatever generational limitations exist in that family allowed you to be born into that family for a reason; so that you will break and destroy that limitation by the power and grace of God at work in your life. That way, you will rise above the limitation and change the negative history of that family.

Definitely, you cannot do this in your own strength which explains why God equipped you specially with certain gifts designed to make you a positive change agent in that family. You can rewrite the history of your family through those gifts. The widow of the indebted son of the prophet rewrote her family history with just a jar of oil. Her family was freed from the generational limitation of financial indebtedness that threatened debt bondage. Rahab rewrote her history by being hospitable to the two spies.
