The people of Joseph said to Joshua, “Why have you given us only one allotment and one portion for an inheritance? We are a numerous people, and the Lord has blessed us abundantly.”⁵ “If you are so numerous,” Joshua answered, “and if the hill country of Ephraim is too small for you, go up into the forest and clear land for yourselves there in the land of the Perizzites and Rephaites.”  The people of Joseph replied, “The hill country is not enough for us, and all the Canaanites who live in the plain have chariots fitted with iron, both those in Beth Shan and its settlements and those in the Valley of Jezreel.”  But Joshua said to the tribes of Joseph—to Ephraim and Manasseh—“You are numerous and very powerful. You will have not only one allotment  but the forested hill country as well. Clear it, and its farthest limits will be yours; though the Canaanites have chariots fitted with iron and though they are strong, you can drive them out.” Joshua Chapter 17 verses 14 to 18.

The Israelites thought their lives would end any moment as Pharaoh and his chariots followed them in hot pursuit. Unknown to them, that would be the end of Pharaoh’s oppression of the Israelites in any form as Pharaoh and his chariots were drowned in the red sea. Please read Exodus Chapter 14 verses 13 to 16, 21 to 22.

The miraculous crossing of the Jordan illustrates the truth of God’ word; that with God, nothing is impossible. This also implies that you can easily cross any Jordan which stares you in the face if you choose to walk with God. Please read Joshua Chapter 3 verses 15 to 17.

With God on your side, you can also command the elements of creation to work in your favor when you are at a disadvantage. Joshua commanded the sun to stand still so he could finish a battle he was fighting and the sun actually stood still until Joshua and his soldiers were done fighting. Please read Joshua Chapter 10 verses 12 to 14.

You can also turn the disadvantage of small spaces into large spaces by taking on territories besides you. Simply, put, enlarge the place of your tent as Manasseh and Ephraim did in Joshua Chapter 17 verses 16 to 18.

Enlargement can also come through conscious and deliberate acts of fruitfulness targeted at multiplication in spite of negative prevailing circumstances. Despite being slaves in Egypt coupled with the harsh treatment the Israelites suffered from the Egyptians, the Bible records that they increased greatly because they were fruitful and they multiplied. Please read Exodus Chapter 1 verse 7.                 

You Can Turn Disadvantages into Advantages

The woman with the issue of blood turned the long term disadvantage of the unceasing blood flow of twelve years into an advantage when she decided to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment. Despite the shame and ridicule, she worked her way through the crowd and touched the hem of Jesus’ garment. Twelve years of pain, shame and financial drain disappeared in an instant. Significantly, she was not ashamed to publicly admit that she was the one who touched the hem of Jesus’ garment. The admission made her healing permanent. Please read Matthew Chapter 9 verses 20 to 22, Mark Chapter 4 verses 27 to 29, 30 to 34.

The widow of the indebted prophet is another case in point. She cried out when the creditor threatened to come take her two sons for debt bondage. That was what saved the situation as the Prophet Elisha to whom she cried gave her counsel on how to get out of debts and financial lack for the rest of her life. She was instructed on how to access resources, shut out distractions so she could produce products to sell and earn money. Please read 2^nd Kings Chapter 4 verses 1 to 7 for details.

Blind Bartimaeus literally took the bull by the horns when he kept shouting out the name of Jesus despite the hush hush from the people around him. As he kept shouting, Jesus turned to him and asked what he wanted. He requested for the restoration of his sight and was healed. Please read Mark Chapter 10 verses 46 to 52.

Zacchaeus was a very short man who desired to see Jesus. This would have been possible if the crowds who followed Jesus did not crowd him out of the view of short people like Zacchaeus. Rather than complain about his height disadvantage and how the tall people of his day were the only ones who had the advantage of seeing Jesus, Zacchaeus decided to think creatively. He would not be in the league of the people who complained about the tall oppressing the short with their height advantage. Zacchaeus chose to grow taller than the supposedly tall who obscured the short from seeing Jesus. Zacchaeus climbed a sycamore tree where he was heads above the tall. Significantly, Jesus noticed and gave Zacchaeus attention in addition to inviting Zacchaeus to entertain Him in Zacchaeus’ house where Zacchaeus could have the pride of vantage position to see Jesus clearly. Please read Luke Chapter 19 verses 1 to 10 for details.

God will Always Provide

You cannot separate divine provision from divine guidance. Please see Psalm 23, Isaiah Chapter 48 verse 17, Matthew Chapter 17 verses 24 to 27, Luke Chapter 5 verses 1 to 9, John Chapter 21 verses 1 to 11, 2^nd Kings Chapter 4 verses 1 to 7, Psalm 1 verses 1 to 3, Deuteronomy Chapter 28 verses 1 to 13, 15 verses 1 to 6.

The wisdom in accessing abundant and overwhelming divine provision is obedience to God at all times coupled with absolute trust in God that He will always do what is right. It is that absolute trust in God that will make you obey God promptly without asking questions. Please see Proverbs Chapter 3 verses 1 to 5, Psalm 23.

Prompt and willing loving obedience coupled with absolute trust and confidence in God as well as belief in the power of God to do to always do the impossible always guarantees overwhelming abundant divine provision. Hagar in the wilderness – Genesis Chapter 21 verses 14 to 19; Isaac in Gerar Genesis Chapter 26 verses 1 to 33, take note of verses 12 to 14, the Israelites in captivity (Jeremiah Chapter 29 verses 4 to 14, Ezra Chapter 2 verse 68, Genesis Chapters 15 verses 13 to 14, 37; 39 to 48, 50 verses 18 to 26; Exodus Chapters 1 verses 7 to 11, 3 verses 21 to 22, 11 verses 2 to 3, 12 verses 35 to 36, 25 verses 1 to 8, 36 verses 1 to 7 (they continued bringing in gifts for the building of the tabernacle because they had more than enough to give).

Divine provision then is to a very large extent a function of obedience to God and divine instructions. Please see Isaiah Chapter 1 verse 19.

Abraham obeyed God and was divinely supplied with the ram for the sacrifice. Please see Genesis Chapter 22. Isaac sowed in a dry land and progressively became wealthy; in fact so wealthy that the Philistines envied him. The widow of the indebted prophet obeyed God. She could have despised and disobeyed the prophet’s instructions but she obeyed every one of them. She borrowed vessels, shut the door, took the seemingly insignificant jar of oil and began to pour into the many vessels including resulting in addition, multiplication, compounding and geometric increase. She further obeyed the prophet and marketed the products. Definitely, she must have entertained doubts concerning sales yet she sold and had more than enough money to live on.

Fan into Flames the Gift of God in You

A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men. Proverbs Chapter 18 verse 16

Do you know what you own? Do you know the value of your God given gifts? If you know, how do you treat them? And if you do not know, what are you doing to identify them and their values, e they spiritual, physical, mental, financial, material, etc?

The Apostle Paul cautioned young Timothy not to neglect his gift irrespective of how he got it. He also reminded Timothy about how the leaders of the Church laid hands on him and there was a prophetic message regarding the gift. The Apostle Paul therefore urged Timothy not to ignore the gift, not to consider the gift trivial and insignificant. He told Timothy that the gift was a great gift from God to him. Therefore, Timothy should recognize the import of the gift, treasure the gift (1^st Timothy Chapter 4 verse 14) and fan the gift into flames. Flames cannot be hidden. When you fan the gift of God in you into flames, the gift becomes visible for everyone to see. But when you do not fan the gift, it becomes cold embers or dying embers or smoky embers which do not bless anyone especially the smoky embers. The smoky embers for instance will obscure vision, restrict people from coming close by because of the negative impact of the smoke on the eyes (peppery eyes) smell of smoke on clothes, hair and body; carbon monoxide when inhaled. The implication is that gifts that have not been fanned into flames do not attract people and when gifts do not attract people, they cannot be money making gifts. In essence, they cannot be monetized. But when they are fanned into flames, they become attractive. Why? People want to see what the flame is, what is responsible for the flame and how they can benefit from the flame. Recall how God got Moses’ attention through the burning bush that was not consumed?

The Overtakers Unction

The race is neither to the swift nor to the strong. Please see Ecclesiastes Chapter 9 verse 11, Romans Chapter 9 verses 15 to 16. The overtakers unction is predicated on obedience; in particular, prompt, willing and loving obedience to and for God. Elijah who ran on foot was able to outrun and overtake Ahab who rode on a chariot because Elijah was obedient to God. That explains why the hand of God came upon Elijah to outrun and overtake Ahab who rode on a chariot. The question then is how did Elijah obey God? In verse 1, God instructed Elijah to go show himself to Ahab and inform Ahab that God was going to send rain on the earth. Considering what had transpired between Ahab and Elisha in addition to the fact that the land had not experienced even a shower not to talk of rain in about three years, it was quite a tall order and scary task for Elijah to go tell Ahab that God was sending rain. Despite the risks, Elijah presented himself to Ahab, significantly not to immediately announce the rain but to initiate divine processes that would lead to the downpour. In the process, a good number of the prophets of Baal and Asherah, about eight hundred were executed. But more important, Elijah repaired the altar of the Lord and then announced rain. While Ahab went feasting, Elijah stayed with God, bowed in intercession until there was a cloud. As Ahab scampered home in his chariot, Elijah attempted to run as fast as his legs would carry him. But the ever loving God Whom Elijah obeyed and served lovingly intervened. Elijah not only outran and overtook Ahab: not a single drop of rain touched him. The rewards of obedience, you may say.

Put an End to Wandering 2

Therefore, request help of God so that He will put an end to wandering in every sphere of your life in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. When you ask help of God, God responds and amazingly, swiftly. This is because God says to call on Him in the day of trouble and He will answer. Significantly, we humble ourselves when we ask God for help and God is always pleased with the humble.

The sick and dying servant of the Centurion mentioned in Luke Chapter 7 verses 1 to 10 is not referred to as a believer; but because his master the Centurion requested help from Jesus, the servant was healed. Quite significant is the fact that the Centurion humbled himself to not only request help of Jesus through the elders of the Jews, but he also insisted that he considered himself unworthy for Jesus to come under his roof. Beloved, you may not be Christian right now. You can ask Jesus for help and thereafter invest in a quality relationship that will yield great dividends for you both now and in eternity. Do not delay. Act now so that wandering and fruitless labor will come to an end in Jesus mighty name.    Wandering as a result of challenges such as financial challenges, unproductive labor and land, marital challenges can be resolved by the wisdom and knowledge of God to give stability. Please see Isaiah Chapter 33 verse 6. The wisdom of God has the capacity to make the land and labor productive, to resolve financial challenges, to resolve marital challenges, as well as other challenges. That will definitely end the captivity of wandering and its related challenges.

The reason for wandering is lack of direction, lack of purpose, lack of fulfillment. But God has given me purpose, therefore fulfillment and by virtue of my salvation by faith in Christ, the ground, the land that God blessed you with will always produce bountiful harvests in Jesus mighty name. Please see Deuteronomy Chapter 8 verses 7 to 10, 18, 11 verses 10 to 15, Zechariah Chapter 8 verse 12, Isaiah Chapter 30 verse 23, Genesis Chapter 8 verse 22. Therefore, no more wandering on account of financial challenges and what appears to be unprofitable labor because God blesses the work of your hands. Please see Deuteronomy Chapter 8 verses 7 to 10, 18; 11 verses 10 to 15, Zechariah Chapter 8 verse 12 and Isaiah Chapter 30 verse 23.

God in His infinite mercies and grace will give you wisdom, His wisdom that is profitable to direct.; to master your finances, to master your mental processes – imagination, dreams, thought processes, desires, emotions, etc; to master your time so that you invest time rather than fritter it; to master the relationships God brings your way so that you do not derail from His plans and purposes for your life as well as master your taste buds so that you do not eat what will be injurious to your body.

Put an End to Wandering 1

You can put an end to wandering in your life in Jesus mighty name.

Kings and priests do not wander in darkness to look for solutions to challenges. Kings summon up the supposedly wise men and women in their kingdoms or even from other kingdoms to proffer solutions to their challenges. The Biblical Joseph was not an Egyptian but he proffered the solutions to the challenges posed by Pharaoh’s by Pharaoh’s dreams after he successfully interpreted them. Daniel was not a Babylonian but he proffered solutions to some of the challenges faced by Kings Nebuchadnezzar, Belshazzar and Darius.  Huram was recruited by King Solomon to work on the engraving in the temple and his palace. So kings do not wander from pace to place to seek solutions. The solutions are brought to them in their palaces.

Priests on the other hand do not summon people to provide solutions for them. Rather, they ask God for solutions and proffer solutions to the challenges of the people God sends or leads them to. If then believers are kings and priests on account of the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross, why then do believers wander from diverse pillars to posts in search of the solutions they can ask God for on their knees even in the privacy of their bedrooms. Beloved, why seek water from broken cisterns that do not hold water when Jesus Christ through the outpouring of the Holy has blessed you with living waters that do not run dry, that are new every morning that can slake any kind of thirst be it spiritual, physical, mental, financial, emotional, marital, parenting, you just name it. Christ in you, the hope of glory has paid whatever price is required to give you any solution you seek in life. You do not have to wander in trackless deserts and be an unfortunate human guinea pig in the hands of spiritualists looking for whom to swindle.

Push the Boundaries

Boundaries or borders define how far a person can go especially walled borders with intimidating gates and fierce looking guards. Sometimes, the walls are so high and entrenched with electronic devices that electrocute if a person attempts to scale walls when passage is denied through the gates. These are physical borders or boundaries.

Other borders such as spiritual, marital, financial, material, etc also exist. These borders particularly the spiritual ones to a very large extent impact on all other borders.  This is to say that spiritual borders are very important and pay a very significant role in a person’s life. This explains why people make spiritual enquires; usually outside of the word of God to what their children, relations, neighbours, enemies, communities and even nations will become. This practice called divination by the Bible is wrong and sinful in the eyes of God the Creator. This is because practitioners of divination source information from demons (Isaiah Chapter 8 verses 18 to 19); owe their allegiance to demons and do not worship God. Significantly, God warns against the practice. Additionally, the practice does not bring light to the practitioners which explains why they continually remain in darkness and certain stratified borders defined by the mediums they patronize.

A couple walking in the light of God experienced financial challenges because the husband lost his job. Rather than focus on polishing his skills and getting another job, he preferred what the diviners told him and for years has been waiting for the fingered witch in his life to die so he can get another job. Unfortunately, this has stretched on to close on ten years. Quite sad! But a little prayer offered to God to intervene in his situation so he could get another job would have solved his problem. But he chose to be spiritually and mentally as well as financially imprisoned in the spiritual borders of divination thereby limiting himself.

Gain Altitude

To gain altitude is to rise above certain levels beyond sea level. Planes gain altitude. So also do birds. In like manner, a person can also gain altitude in the journey of life. Such ascents could be spiritual, physical, mental or even financial. Therefore, gain attitude in knowledge, understanding, wisdom, relationships despite what the enemy whose major agenda is to prevent you from rising may do. Remember that believers are often targets of satanic opposition.

Altitude takes you ahead of the pack. One of the ways to gain altitude is to be financially resourceful and savvy so that you can manage financial resources to advantage and expansion.

Also make very determined and conscious efforts on a daily basis to become the global change agent God created you to be. Stop fighting battles that are not yours especially insignificant battles that will move you nowhere.

Use the current resources at your disposal to move from where you are now to where God wants you to be. One of such resources is the word of God. The word of God has the capacity to elevate you and take out of the dust and ash heap as well as obscure positions of life to significance, relevance, dominance, limelight, favor, wealth and abundant life that Jesus Christ purchased for you with His precious blood. Please see John Chapter 10 verse 10.  Jesus Christ used the existing structures and platforms of the religious establishment of the day. He taught the people in their synagogues, preached from boats, on mountain tops, from street corners, healed on the streets and cast out demons on the streets. He did not wait to own or rent cathedrals before doing the work of the kingdom. How about financial autonomy? Was He dependent on the tithes and offerings of the people? Not at all! The religious establishment of the day did not acknowledge and recognize Him as a Priest, Prophet or Levite so he was exempt from the benefits of the tithe. Also, Jesus did not request for such tithes. Yet, He led and fed not only His disciples but the multitudes who followed Him. He also did not shirk His civic responsibilities. He paid taxes. How did He make the money? He asked Peter to go fishing to get the money. This implies that you can make money from your skills, talents and areas of expertise. The women who supported His ministry with their money and other resources were an additional source of income.

God is Faithful

God does not fail, has not failed and will not fail. That is the testimony of the saints in the Bible and it is one of the cardinal teachings in the Bible. Please see Numbers Chapter 23 verse 19. David was a man after God’s heart, was anointed as King of Israel when he was still a teenager, experienced challenges that could have made him doubt God, the word of God and promises of God concerning him; yet David held on to God.

As a young man, God used Him to defeat Goliath and because the women of Israel sang praises of David, the then ruling King of Israel, Saul became envious of David and made several attempts on the young life of David. Consequently, David became homeless and had to live among the Philistines, ironically among the kinsmen of Goliath whom he killed. Eventually, Saul was killed in battle and after a battle with the surviving sons and relatives of Saul, the Israelites came together and crowned David king of Israel. Please see 1st Chronicles Chapter 12.

Wait for God

God promotes to show forth His glory in life. He does not need to consult anyone to promote you. Promotions are orchestrated by God and there is a due time for God’s promotion (Habakkuk Chapter 2 verses 2 to 3). God has His own timing for everyone (Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 verse 11).  Beloved, it is just a matter of time. I see God bringing you to His rest for you in every area of your life – marriage, financial, spiritual. You will move from glory to glory in Jesus mighty name.

Joseph’s case is a classic case study of exponential divine promotion which is usually beyond human imagination. The king sent for him. He did not seek to see Pharaoh. Joseph had no status, no background that could have made it possible for him to see Pharaoh yet God orchestrated the meeting by creating a need that only Joseph could meet in the heart and life of Pharaoh. Only God decides who occupies positions of high authority and greatness and it can be exponential and can happen suddenly. Please see Genesis Chapter 41, 1st Samuel Chapter 2 verse 8.

God had a plan for Joseph’s life though hatred made his brothers attempt to kill him and in the end, they sold him into slavery. If Joseph had remained with his father, he would not have succeeded. Also, he could not manage his thought processes and always said things as they were. He was not diplomatic and discreet. He shared openly his dreams. Please see Chapter 37 verses 2 to 11.  For Joseph to make it in life, he had to shed being Daddy’s boy (Genesis Chapter 39 verse 4, John Chapter 12 verse 24).   Joseph was served at home but in Egypt he learnt to serve. The place of service is the place of training. As Joseph served, he was made General Overseer, learning administrative skills that became necessary as the Prime Minister of Egypt. Joseph was also trained to be more diplomatic and discreet. His choice and use of language at the time he stood before Pharaoh to interpret Pharaoh’s dream are clear indications of his spiritual and mental development.

God was perfecting Joseph in the place of interpreting dreams. He depended on God for the interpretation of the dreams. Please see Genesis Chapter 41 verse 14. What you do not perfect you cannot handle. Some of the assignments you are assigned are actually designed for your promotion. God does not promote lazy people. You limit the life of a person when you encourage shortcuts. What you do not pay a price for, you do not value. If you refuse to manage challenges so that they become stepping stones, you are likely to perceive challenges as uphill tasks that should be avoided at all costs. As Joseph remained under the tutelage of God, he made progress. Please see Genesis Chapter 47 verse 20.

The Power of Words

Words are powerful. They frame thought patterns. What a person hears and believes is very important as words always have the capacity to impact people and their lives either positively or negatively. That is why you should cross check the source of the words you hear, internalize and believe. Therefore, whoever you pay attention to; internalize the words and speak the words is very important. Who you listen to is very important.

Words that originate from God always have the capacity to enrich and enlarge you and make you a better person. These words are like the rain that comes in due season; that is at the right time to bless the earth. The word of God is powerful. The word of God gives believers advantage over the world by giving believers advance information of what God has done concerning our lives and whatever situation confronts us.

It is a battle of words and words that originate from the kingdom of darkness are like the polluted waters of Jericho that was causing barrenness and death in the land. Please see 2^nd Kings Chapter 2 verses 18 to 22, Exodus Chapter 15 verses 22 to 26. That is why Elisha went to the source of the water where the water was polluted to bring about healing of the water, decontamination from source and healing in the land.

This is why the devil manipulates through negative reports. Refuse to entertain and believe negative reports. The devil consistently uses his agents to create and foster contrary and negative situations through their speeches and actions – daily confessions of negativity, impossibilities and what have you to make you think, focus on and reflect on impossibilities, and how to cope; sometimes resulting in worries, anxieties, and fear and of course, unbelief and consequently recourse to sinful actions, usually suggestions from the pit of hell.

Enhance Your Brand 2

The widow of the indebted son of the prophet was a very humble person. She acknowledged their family financial situation - it was very bad, they were in debt that was long overdue for repayment and the creditor had no intention of showing mercy. He would show up at any moment to take her two sons away for debt bondage. Recognizing that such an action would further compound her situation – widowhood and losing her two sons to the creditor she acted. She cried out to God, by going to the spokesperson of God, Elisha the prophet. She told him the truth, the whole truth. She was not economical with the truth. She did not color the truth. Elisha then advised her on what to do. Again, she humbled herself and went to all her neighbors and borrowed empty vessels. She despised the shame and borrowed empty vessels in large quantities as instructed by the prophet. Thereafter, she processed and packaged the seemingly little oil for sale and that ended and destroyed the yoke of poverty in their lives.

Humility enhanced the brand of this woman, her two sons and their family from that of an indebted family to an abundantly supplied family with more than enough financial resources to live on after paying off their debts.

Please, permit me to emphasize the significance of empty vessels. The prophet Elisha instructed the widow to borrow empty vessels in large numbers after she informed the prophet that all she had was a jar of oil. The question is why empty vessels in large numbers? The empty vessels would ensure a continuous flow of the oil – expanding and multiplying the oil. In like manner, institutionalization of the grace of God in your life will always ensure a steady flow of the grace, expanding and multiplying the unction of God in your life; creating further opportunities and platforms for expansion in your life.

Unlock Abundant Financial Resources

Abundant financial resources can be yours for the unlocking if only your ears are attentive to divine instructions and you take a step further in obeying divine instructions. Obedience To divine instructions always unlocks abundant financial resources.

Jesus Christ instructed Peter to go to the sea, cast in a hook and take the fish that came up first. He was to open up the mouth of this fish because there was a piece of money in it that would cover their temple taxes.

Beloved, the surest way to access financial resources is obedience to divine instructions and significantly, divine instructions are always clear and specific. Jesus Christ instructed Peter to take the fish that came up first. This implies that several fishes would come up but it was the one that came up first that had the piece of money they required to pay their temple taxes. Any other fish that came up after that the first fish would be regular fish for eating and probably selling. The fish assigned the divine task of providing the tax was the first fish that came up. So Jesus gave specific identification tags to Peter, which also explains why He instructed Peter to use a hook, not hooks (cast in a hook) so that the fish on divine assignment which is the one that the hook would catch would be easily identified by Peter.

How God Makes Roads in the Wilderness

God raised Cyrus and stirred up his spirit to rebuild Jerusalem, especially the rebuilding of the temple. Cyrus declared that God commanded him to build Him a house at Jerusalem. Please see 2^nd Chronicles Chapter 36 verses 22 to 23, Ezra Chapter 1 verses 1 to 2, and Isaiah Chapter 45 verses 1 to 13. God also raised Cyrus up in righteousness and directed all his ways.

Beloved, the Israelites had been in exile for about seventy years and the land was desolate. Besides, the city of Jerusalem including all the significant structures had been razed down after the items of value were carted away to Babylon. The returnee exiles did not own the kind of resources required to rebuild the city and the temple. Additionally, they did not have the authority to even return to Jerusalem, not to talk of rebuilding eh city and the temple. But because the Word of God does not return  to Him void and it was time for the Word to be fulfilled (Isaiah Chapter 55 verses 8 to 13, Psalm 138 verse 2, 2^nd Chronicles Chapter 36 verses 22 to 23, Ezra Chapter 1 verses 1 to 2, Isaiah Chapter 45 verses 1 to 13), God raised Cyrus and commanded Cyrus to build Him a house and because Cyrus as king would not be physically involved in the process, he called for Israelite exiles who were willing to return to Jerusalem. He then delegated the rebuilding of the temple and city to them. He also provided the required resources alongside relevant authorization. Moreover, he returned everything of value that was taken from the temple. Thus commenced the rebuilding of the temple!
