The Overtakers Unction

The race is neither to the swift nor to the strong. Please see Ecclesiastes Chapter 9 verse 11, Romans Chapter 9 verses 15 to 16. The overtakers unction is predicated on obedience; in particular, prompt, willing and loving obedience to and for God. Elijah who ran on foot was able to outrun and overtake Ahab who rode on a chariot because Elijah was obedient to God. That explains why the hand of God came upon Elijah to outrun and overtake Ahab who rode on a chariot. The question then is how did Elijah obey God? In verse 1, God instructed Elijah to go show himself to Ahab and inform Ahab that God was going to send rain on the earth. Considering what had transpired between Ahab and Elisha in addition to the fact that the land had not experienced even a shower not to talk of rain in about three years, it was quite a tall order and scary task for Elijah to go tell Ahab that God was sending rain. Despite the risks, Elijah presented himself to Ahab, significantly not to immediately announce the rain but to initiate divine processes that would lead to the downpour. In the process, a good number of the prophets of Baal and Asherah, about eight hundred were executed. But more important, Elijah repaired the altar of the Lord and then announced rain. While Ahab went feasting, Elijah stayed with God, bowed in intercession until there was a cloud. As Ahab scampered home in his chariot, Elijah attempted to run as fast as his legs would carry him. But the ever loving God Whom Elijah obeyed and served lovingly intervened. Elijah not only outran and overtook Ahab: not a single drop of rain touched him. The rewards of obedience, you may say.

Succeed Through the Word

For my thoughts [are] not your thoughts, neither [are] your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap [their] hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign [that] shall not be cut off. The word of God has creative abilities and capacities. These abilities are activated each time the Word of God is prophesied into a situation, our lives. To prophesy is poles apart from to proclaim or proclamation which is official declaration. To prophesy according to the OXFORD Advanced Learner’s Dictionary of English is to say what will happen in the future. However, because humans do not know or see the future except through the Word, it will be more accurate to say that prophesying is speaking the Word of God in the Bible into situations or he lives of people or your own life in order to activate the creative power in the Word of God. Please see Hebrews Chapter 11 verse 3, Romans Chapter 4 verse 17 and Ezekiel Chapter 37 verses 1 to 14.

The Word of God has power, great power to always accomplish what God purposes – Isaiah Chapter 55 verses 8 to 13. Scripture cannot be broken. Therefore when you have the Word of God you have everything you could ever need in life. This is because the Word of God in your heart, in your thought processes, imagination, your desires, and your likes will give you everything you want as long as they are within the will of God – Hebrews Chapter 11 verse 3.

Elijah had the Word of God – he prophesied rain after a long period of drought and there was a downpour on the same day. Peter had toiled all night yet at the Word of God released by Jesus Christ, Who is the Word of God, Peter let down his nets for a haul and the boat was full of fish. In both situations bordering on despair, the Word of God reversed the situations to joy, happiness, blessings of God and abundance. Drought and fruitless toils that characterize unsuccessful activities are not of God. The will of God is for His children to enjoy fruitfulness, rain of blessings, success and abundance.

Enriched and Enlarged for Success 1

The God of divine surplus will visit you, enrich and enlarge you as you journey to Success Street. When He visited Peter, Peter caught a multitude of fish. When He intervened in the feeding of the multitudes, there was a surplus from what appeared to be insufficient.

God demonstrates divine enrichment and enlargement through divine surplus and He desires to take you to that position of divine surplus now in Jesus mighty name. The indebted prophet’s widow was in a very unpleasant situation that appeared to have no exit doors. She had no means of livelihood, her husband left behind huge debts that threatened the future of her two sons who would soon become slaves to the creditor. She ran to Prophet Elisha for help and God instructed her on what to do through the prophet. As she obeyed every instruction, God multiplied the jar of oil into several vessels of oil that were sold to pay off the debts. Suddenly, an impoverished and indebted family without any income had excess income that exceeded their expenditure and debts so that they had more than enough financial resources to live on for the rest of their lives. God moved them from the level of debt, lack, indebtedness to more than enough and He is about to do same for you irrespective of whatever level you are in now. Through His overflowing and inexhaustible fountain of divine abundance, He will ensure that the treasury of your life is continually filled to overflowing and abundance that ensures that your income will always exceed your expenditure no matter how big that expenditure is. Unlock Abundant Financial Resources

Abundant financial resources can be yours for the unlocking if only your ears are attentive to divine instructions and you take a step further in obeying divine instructions. Obedience To divine instructions always unlocks abundant financial resources.

Jesus Christ instructed Peter to go to the sea, cast in a hook and take the fish that came up first. He was to open up the mouth of this fish because there was a piece of money in it that would cover their temple taxes.

Beloved, the surest way to access financial resources is obedience to divine instructions and significantly, divine instructions are always clear and specific. Jesus Christ instructed Peter to take the fish that came up first. This implies that several fishes would come up but it was the one that came up first that had the piece of money they required to pay their temple taxes. Any other fish that came up after that the first fish would be regular fish for eating and probably selling. The fish assigned the divine task of providing the tax was the first fish that came up. So Jesus gave specific identification tags to Peter, which also explains why He instructed Peter to use a hook, not hooks (cast in a hook) so that the fish on divine assignment which is the one that the hook would catch would be easily identified by Peter.
