Identify and Deploy Your Launch Pads as Leverages

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men. Proverbs Chapter 18 verse 16

Every human being created by God has divine or what you may call natural leverages divinely given by God to elevate the person in his or her life. The challenge usually is knowing and understanding that you have leverages. So the start point is getting to know and understanding what leverages are; identifying your own leverages and deploying them to advantage. What then is leverage? Leverage according to the Longman Contemporary Dictionary of English is the influence that you can use to make people do what you want.

Talents, skills and expertise, what I like to refer to as divine intellectual property most often serve as launch pads into divine greatness if properly deployed into divine purposes and activities. This is to say that talents, skills, and expertise are divinely designed to move a person to greatness, affluence, fame and honor progressively, from point A to point B if they are intelligently used as leverages. Ideally, they are meant to be used as launch pads to leapfrog present positions to higher positions. To some extent, they are leverages. Joseph could interpret dreams. He used the ability to interpret dreams which launched him into Pharaoh’s presence as leverage to become Prime Minister in the land of Egypt.

The Biblical Joseph started his career in Egypt as a servant in the house of Potiphar and was interpreting the dreams of managing Potiphar’s house profitably. Though what appeared to be negative circumstances pushed Joseph into prison, it is significant and quite instructive to learn that Joseph’s sojourn in prison was part of the divine pathways to greatness as prison became Joseph’s launch pad to Pharaoh’s court and thereafter greatness in the land of Egypt. Joseph did not stop interpreting dreams in prison. The circumstances of being falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife culminating in an unjust life sentence to prison in Egypt did not make Joseph a bitter person. Joseph maintained a pleasant disposition, relating with everyone nicely (he had great interpersonal relationship skills) and carrying out his duties diligently.  The prison keeper noticed and assigned Joseph the responsibility of managing the prison and prisoners. Joseph’s great interpersonal relationship skills came into play when the Chief butler and Chief baker of Pharaoh who were remanded in the royal gulag dreamt; significantly slightly different dreams, but ironically on the same night. The dreams left them flustered and unhappy as they had no idea what they forbode because there was no interpreter of dreams in the prison. But unknown to them, God had divinely put Joseph there to help interpret their dreams so that ultimately, Joseph would be linked to Pharaoh.

Ever observant Joseph noticed their sad countenance and asked what the problem was. They told Joseph and he solved their problems. Quite instructive and significant is the fact that Joseph actually solved his own problems by solving their problems. How, you may ask? The butler remembered Joseph when it became critical for Joseph to be announced to the world. Why? Joseph deployed his divine launch pads to advantage. Sometimes, deploying your divine leverages may require you providing pro bono services and you may appear to be playing. Do not be perturbed. Joseph did and rose to become Prime Minister in Egypt. Ruth did and became the wife of Boaz. From gleaning to provide bread in the home, Ruth became co-owner of the field she gleaned in. Beloved, you are next in line for ownership of great fortune and other resources. Do so by deploying your divine launch pads to advantage. God bless and uplift you to great heights as you do so in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Shalom.
