No More Indefinite Waits

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Thou shalt arise, [and] have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come. Psalm 102 verse 13.

Do you want to be made well; get well? Please read John Chapter 5 verses 1 to 9, note verse 6 for details of what prompted Jesus Christ to ask this question.

Jesus Christ broke and destroyed the limitations of waiting indefinitely, usually over a period of time for the moving of the water; considering that only one person usually the first to step into the water got healed. So the other people described as a great multitude of lame, impotent, etc who could not step in immediately the water was stirred by an angel kept waiting; for yet another move by the angel. The wait was such that no one there knew exactly when they could get in which explains why the man who was healed by Jesus Christ spent thirty eight long years at the pool; waiting for the moving of the water, as well as anyone who could come to his aid and drop him in the water when the water was moved.

Fortunately for him, Jesus showed up and broke with tradition. The man did not have to wait for the moving of the water because the Creator of the water as well as the angel who stirred the water was there to make the man whole without the man stepping into the water. At His word, His spoken word and sent word which always accomplishes divine purpose, the man was healed and freed from the limitation of waiting endlessly.

Beloved, you may have waited, have been waiting or you are waiting for a divine intervention in an issue, challenge that has severally defied every known solution and you are on the verge of giving up. Hear the word of the Lord. Your wait period is over because God is with you by His Spirit to give you the freedom and deliverance you require. The moving of the water offered very limited opportunity. Just one person at a time but the Presence of Jesus Christ opened up several windows of opportunities for freedom which sidestepped the moving of the water. For instance, Jesus could speak to you directly and command healing and deliverance as He did in a number of cases or you could creatively find ways of reaching Him as in the cases of the woman with the issue of blood who meandered her way through the crowd to touch the hem of his garment; blind Bartimaeus who hollered at the top of his voice to get Jesus’ attention; Zacchaeus who climbed a sycamore tree to see Jesus, was seen and commended by Jesus; the two blind men who followed Jesus crying for mercy and their sight restored (Matthew Chapter 9 verses 27 to 31); the ten lepers who cried for mercy (Luke Chapter 17 verses 12 to 19) and were cleansed.

Quite significant and instructive is the fact that none of these people waited endlessly. Rather they acted and Jesus responded to their faith. Beloved, now is the appointed time to favor Zion. No more indefinite waits; no more futuristic waiting for deliverance, abundance because God is here; He has given you everything you need to live godly and well and He has arisen with mercy to favor you, to save you and deliver you.
