The Benefits of Divine Guidance

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

God guides you in the paths of righteousness. Though God does this for His name’s sake, the benefits are amazing. A person guided by God in the paths of righteousness will not walk in and experience filth, be it spiritual, physical, mental filth. Why? Righteousness and filth do not go together therefore filth that leads to pollution, condemnation, stagnation and untimely death will not be in the pathway of righteousness that God leads a person in.

Secondly, the paths of righteousness are the paths of God and the paths of God always drop fatness that lead to abundance. Who would not desire such a path? Please see Psalm 65 verses 9 to 13, Isaiah Chapter 48 verses 17 to 19, and Psalm 81 verses 13 to 16. Peter was divinely guided to abundance when he launched out into the deep; and also cast his net on the right side. Isaac became wealthy when he obeyed God and followed the divine guidance to plant in Gerar. Please see Genesis Chapter 26 for details.

God asked Abraham to detach himself from his father’s house. That way he could be blessed. It could be relationships, habits and lifestyles that do not give glory to God that God wants you to detach yourself from. Immediately Abraham stepped out, God visited Abraham and blessed him. Age is no barrier to what God wants to do in your life. God is faithful. He keeps everyone of His promises. He does not need help from anyone to bless you. He is God Almighty and has more than enough resources to accomplish what He promised to do in your life.

Israel has very little in terms of land mass and population compared to some countries with very large land mass and populations. Yet, Israel remains a force to be reckoned with by world powers because of the faithful promises made by God to Abraham (Genesis Chapter 12 verses 1 to 3, 22 verses 17 to 18). The nation and people of Israel enjoy tremendous blessings from God not on the basis of landmass, natural resources but because of the faithfulness of God to Abraham who chose the paths of divine guidance.

Divine guidance also guarantees victory and safety from the enemy. Please see Psalm 81 verse 13 to 16, Joshua Chapter 6, Judges Chapter 7, 1st Samuel Chapter 30, 2nd Samuel Chapter 5 verses 18 to 25. Joshua was divinely instructed to walk around the walls of Jericho for seven days before giving the victory chant that brought down the intimidating walls of Jericho that barricaded the Israelites from further progress to Canaan. Immediately the walls came down, they made progress on their journey. Joseph, the earthly father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ obeyed the divine instructions he received in his dream and quickly took Jesus to safety in Egypt.

Divine guidance brings healing. Please see Isaiah Chapter 38 where King Hezekiah was divinely instructed to apply a poultice on the boils that threatened his life. General Naaman was instructed to go dip in the Jordan seven times and thereafter he was cleansed of the leprosy on him. Please see 2nd Kings Chapter 5.

Divine guidance is a panacea for wandering as divine guidance guarantees divine direction and divine settlement. Please see Psalm 107 verses 1 to 7, John Chapter 16 verse 13.
Stop trying to help God. Simply step out in faith in obedience to what God says. Please see Genesis Chapter 12, 15.
