Do Not Lose Momentum

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Do not lose momentum of what God started in your life, business, career, academics, finances, marriage, home, health and whatever it is you do. Consolidate on what has been done. There is a constituency out there, a huge one that is in need of a listening ear; wants real interaction, and not the publicity stunt and fame people are looking for in the name of ministry, business and what have you.

What is momentum? According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, momentum means
  • ·         : the strength or force that something has when it is moving

·      : the strength or force that allows something to continue or to grow stronger or faster as time passes

What does it mean to have momentum?  How did you get to the point of momentum and what do you do with whatever momentum you have? What does it take not to lose momentum? To have gained momentum implies that you are already unto something, you are going somewhere, you are doing something that is gaining ground progressively. Some level of commitment, diligence and determination coupled with the grace of God got you to where you are now. However, pressures, perhaps limited knowledge and understanding of how to progress beyond where you are now is making you consider giving up and jumping on to something else. Beloved, no one makes progress by jumping from one unfinished business to the other without ever thinking of how to complete each one that was already started. Working that way is about the fastest way to lose momentum.

However, building on what is already on ground by strengthening and enhancing God has already blessed you with so that you can bloom, flourish, blossom and expand to the heights God wants to take you to is a good way of gaining additional momentum. The size of the tent determines the size and quality of the curtains; while the size and quality of the curtains ultimately determine the length of the cords. STRENGTHEN YOUR STAKES – consolidate on what God has empowered you to build up – strengthen and enhance; meaning look for what can scale up, add value to what you already have and integrate into what you already have. Also, strengthen your stakes implies that you till your ground and not the ground of other people. Please see Proverbs Chapters 28 verse 19; 12 verse 11, Job Chapter 39 verses 13 to 18. This means that whatever stakes have to be strengthened for enhancement, growth and added value have to be your own stakes and not the stakes of other people. It is your stakes that you strengthen and enhance that will give you the consolidation you require to flourish and expand to the heights God wants you to expand to.

You have come too far in whatever godly enterprise you are currently working on to jump ship. The distance you have covered is much more than the distance left to be covered. Why then are you afraid that you will fail when in reality success is just around the corner? Do not give up on yourself. Do not give up on God either. The biblical Joseph is someone to learn from. How you may ask. Prison was his immediate stepping stone to the palace. But honestly, you and I could have given up in prison. Not Joseph. His plea to the butler to remember him after he was restored to Pharaoh’s service proves that Joseph did not give up on himself and God even while in prison.

Beloved, do not lose momentum. Make the next move whatever it is and land on Success Street. However, be sure that your next move is a godly and knowledgeable one. God take you safely to Success Street in Jesus mighty name. Shalom.
