Be More Proactive

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Rise up early – a great while before dawn to prepare. All the amazingly successful biblical characters always rose up a great while before dawn to spend quality time with God, plan and prepare for the day. The quality time spent with God meant greater illumination of their minds. Please see Psalm 119 verses 105 and 130. This also enabled them to receive divine blueprints for the day, days, weeks, months year etc. with such blueprints, they literally ran vigorously with the vision; garnered support as well as other resources required accomplishing the vision. Please see Moses, Joshua, the virtuous woman, Jesus Christ.

Prepare even for the next second. Preparation is central to maximizing opportunities. When preparation meets opportunity, the rest is history as success comes in leaps and bounds. You make hay when the sun is shining and not when snow is falling. You also strike when the iron is hot and not cold.

Always anticipate people, events and situations so that you can proffer solutions ahead of time. Jesus Christ knew that Peter would be tested by the enemy and Peter would fail yet Jesus prayed for Peter so that Peter would become a different person after the test. Significantly, the same Peter who denied Jesus Christ thrice led the early Church after he was strengthened on account of the prayers Jesus prayed for him.

Do not shift blames. Accept responsibility and repent and God will restore you. David acknowledged his sin. He did not blame beautiful Bathsheba for seducing him. God forgave him and restored him.

Do not wait for events and people. Rather, preempt people and events through prophecy – by prophesying the word of God.

Beat the competition by doing exactly what God wants you to do, how He wants you to do it, where He wants you to do it and when He wants you to do it. That way you will be ahead of the competition though in reality there is no competition if you actually focus on what God wants you to do.

Be organized in your mental processes, physical activities and financial transactions. Organization ensures seamless transactions from one level to the other.

Be proactive in spiritual matters. For instance do not glory over the victories of yesterday and become complacent in the process assuming you have arrived. Like in chess, attack, retreat, attack so you can always have an edge over the enemy. The devil attacks at one’s lowest moments but a child of God in the spirit always overwhelms the devil with God. Therefore, cut down leisure hours and spend more time with God. Cut down on the long hours of sleep and wage war like an experienced generalissimo on your knees. That way, you will always go ahead of the devil, frustrate him and his evil plans. One of the ways to go ahead of the devil is to fellowship with God in prayers, praise and worship as well as in-depth study of the Word. In essence start the day with morning devotions even when you are swimming in billions and your health is great.

Think generationally so that you can deal with generational limiting patterns and occurrences that have afflicted family members by superior knowledge, the blood of Jesus Christ and the power of God. Please see Hebrews Chapter 4 verse 12. Leapfrog generational barriers through deep level intercession. Please see Luke Chapter 1 verse 13, Matthew Chapter 18 verse 18, Ezekiel Chapter 18 verses 2 to 3. To an extent that is what praying for tomorrow is about. Do not wait until challenges assail you before praying. Make prayer a daily affair; and most importantly, a relationship with God.

PREPARE. BE MORE AND VERY PROACTIVE. Victory is yours in Jesus mighty name.
