If there is anyone that should succeed in any
business, it should be you because Genesis Chapter 1 verse 26 says so. It is
the will of God for you. This means that as a believer, you should be at the
top because dominion is your DNA. You are made in the image of God.
Additionally, and quite instructive is the need to
apply yourself. While skills and expertise are great assets; skills and expertise without a
corresponding grace to complete assigned tasks especially as directed will not
place you at the top. If you do not complete tasks assigned to you, how then do
you exercise dominion? An uncompleted building, art work or dress is never a
master piece and cannot be showcased in any competition. Only completed
buildings, works of art, dresses et al can be showcased and categorized as
master pieces. Huram had the grace to finish tasks as directed. So also were
Bezalel, Oholiab and the team of gifted artisans who worked with them – Exodus Chapter 38 verses 22 to 23, 39 verses 42 to 43.
Completing assigned tasks according to specification is a sign of
humility, obedience and real expertise. It also shows that you respect people
and their ideas and you are a good person to work with. It also means you are
not willful. King Solomon had a finisher’s anointing. For seven years he worked
with the building team to build a masterpiece as the temple of God. He was
patient to get a great quality job done. 1st Kings Chapter 7 verse
51.
Mr. Lazybones whose vineyard was overgrown with
thorns, covered with weeds; and its wall were broken down refused to complete
the task of looking after his vineyard, a platform for exercising dominion in
his sector. He lacked a finisher’s anointing because he lacked discipline and
was disrespectful to the Holy Spirit. I believe the Holy Spirit must have
cautioned him severally to look after the vineyard but Mr. Lazybones loved
sleep. He is described as lazy because he enjoyed a little extra sleep; a
little more slumber and a little folding of the hands to rest. Time he should have invested in looking after
the farm was spent in extra sleep and rest that his body did not need. This is
because the Bible describes the sleep as a little extra and a little more,
which implies that he had slept the normal eight hours sleep required by the
body for good health. The problem with Mr. Lazybones is that he loved sleep
(Proverbs Chapter 20 verse 12, 19 verse 15). He who is slothful in his work is
a brother to him who is a great destroyer. So rather than exercise dominion in
his sector, he destroyed the platform for doing so.
Exercising dominion in your sector is an opportunity
for you to draw people to Christ because you will be a shining light.
Additionally, if you exercise dominion in your sector, you do not have to
lobby. Though Huram was schooled by his father, went beyond his teacher and
never lobbied for any of the kingly jobs he got. Jephthah dictated the terms of
the engagement when his brothers came to look for him because he a good warrior.
If you exercise dominion in your sector, everybody will pay what you ask for. You
will be indispensably sought after and relevant for today and tomorrow. Therefore
stop playing the second fiddle. It is time for YOU to take YOUR rightful place
in the society.
Finally, exercising dominion in your sector will
help you to create wealth and be successful financially by positioning you to
receive hidden riches. I believe that you can exercise dominion in your sector
