Speak Powerful Words

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Going through a long line of prophets, God has been addressing our ancestors in different ways for centuries. Recently he spoke to us directly through his Son. By his Son, God created the world in the beginning, and it will all belong to the Son at the end. This Son perfectly mirrors God, and is stamped with God’s nature. He holds everything together by what he says—powerful words! Hebrews Chapter 1 verses 1 to 3, MSG version. Hebrews Chapter 1 Msg version

Words frame thoughts; give flesh and meaning to thoughts. Most importantly, words define a person as well as tell where a person is headed and whether the person will actually get there. That is why the Bible in Proverbs Chapter says that a person is what s/he thinks about and voices about himself or herself.

Therefore, if you permit the devil and his cohorts to put words in your mouth so that you constantly voice his words, then you will be working willingly with the devil to reverse God’s plans and purposes for your life. Beloved, you do not need such satanic intervention in your life. The Israelites tried it in the wilderness. When the ten spies were sent to explore the land of Canaan, some of them returned with a negative report; not only about the land but also about their ability to take on the land. They concluded that the people who lived in the land of Canaan were bigger and stronger; and in comparison to the people, the Israelites were like grasshoppers, significantly and quite instructive in the eyes of the eight spies who gave the negative report.

Quite significant and instructive, the spies who voiced this report were assenting to wrong words, words put in their hearts by the enemy. Unfortunately, they were also lying; using words designed by the enemy to stop the progress of the people of God to the Promised Land. The first lie they told was that the land devours those living in it. If the land was busy devouring those living in it, how then did the same land produce and accommodate the giants and the powerful who they claimed made them look like grasshoppers? Also, a land that devours those living in it would not produce such great bountiful harvests that two people had to carry on a pole just a single cluster of grapes along with pomegranates and figs.  So the unbelieving spies lied about the land and the people. Using very disempowering language, they succeeded in demoralizing the people of Israel from continuing on the journey to Canaan.

Beloved, do not shortchange yourself and God’s plans and purpose for your life by speaking disempowering words over your life.

You are not a failure, you are not poor, and you are not cursed. Rather, you are a chosen generation, royalty, greatly loved by God and designed for great success and wealth. Ignore what the enemy said or says about you and focus on what God says about you. What God says about in His word are powerful words which you should voice daily to yourself, to God in prayers and to people who ask about you and what you do. You know why?

The brothers of Joseph spoke negatively about Joseph; they would see how Joseph’s dreams would come to pass. Yet, because the word of God does not return to Him without accomplishing divine purpose, the brothers of Joseph were the ones who helped Joseph so to speak to embark on the divinely ordained journey to Egypt which put Joseph in the global spotlight of his day.

Beloved, you deserve better and will get the best if you choose to partner with God and speak the numerous empowering words about yourself which God blessed you with. Take the time to search them out in His word and speak them at all times. The manifestation will be swift. Hurry and start speaking powerful words today. Shalom.
