Always be Expectant 2

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

The Bible records in Isaiah Chapter 54 verse 17 that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. Beloved, this implies that God will always ensure that no weapon fashioned against you and members of your family shall prosper.

God will satisfy you with long life recorded in Psalm 91 implies that God will give you long life, He will take sickness and everything that threatens your life away from you so that you can live long in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. God will also ensure that your children and children’s children and descendants serve Him all the days of their lives so that they will spend eternity with Him in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Please read Isaiah Chapter 59 verse 21.

Samson cried to God when he was thirsty because he desired life – Judges Chapter 15 verses 18 to 19 but when he despaired of life after the humiliation he suffered at the hands of the Philistines, he despaired of life and asked to die and God granted his wish. Judges Chapter 16 verses 28 to 31.

Hezekiah desired life and requested for life and God granted him life. Please read Isaiah Chapter 38.

Paul’s expectations for a truly satisfying healthy long life so he could be alive and well to fulfill divine purpose was not cut short. Severally he was beaten and even taken up for dead but God kept him. Stephen on the other hand consented to death and committed his spirit to God. Please read Acts Chapter 7.

The expectation of the righteous which cannot be cut short comes from in depth knowledge and understanding of the word of God, a function of consistent Bible reading, studying, meditation as well as spending quality time in the Presence of God. You can only know and understand the faithful and precious promises of God in His word through diligent study of the word of God. For instance, an in depth knowledge and understanding of the word of God in Philippians Chapter 4 verse 19 will make a child of God confident that God will always supply all of his or her needs irrespective of what they are – material and financial provision, protection, security, deliverance, salvation, healing, etc. This explains why the Prophet Elisha confidently told his servant that they had more people with them than the Syrian army who surrounded them. And when God opened the eyes of the young man, he actually saw God’s army and fire all around them. Please read 2nd Kings Chapter 6 verses 1 to 23. Prophet Elisha’s expectation that God would always protect him was not cut short.

The future splendor of this Temple will be greater than the splendor of the first one. For I have plenty of silver and gold to do it! And here I will give peace says the Lord. Stay connected to God, live connected to God, be expectant and you will never be in need. Your connection to God will keep you expectant of good and great things from God while your expectation based on the sure promises of God will unleash the barrage of goodies.  It is time to seek the Lord. Times of refreshing are here; ENJOY.

Beloved, I pray that you will and should always be expectant because God loves you and has the very best of plans for you.
