Master Your Emotions

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Drop dead weights. You do not need them.

People who are blessed with problem solving skills should master their emotions. They should endeavor to be in perfect control of their emotions. That is to say that their emotions should be totally handed over to God for safekeeping so that their emotions do not get in the way of service to God and humanity. That way they can and will always function effectively in the deployment of their problem solving skills to humanity.  Jesus Christ is the classic example. The Apostle Paul is also a good example. So also is Joseph. Despite the hurts from people they loved served, they continued to bless humanity by deploying their gifts for the service of humanity.

Beloved, drop dead weights. You do not need them. This is because they will either slow you down or immobilize you, especially emotional dead weights which always have an unusual capacity to ground people completely. Some emotional dead weights include resentment, envy, bitterness, hatred, jealousy, vindictiveness. You do not need any of these. Aside from blocking and hindering the free flow of the Holy Spirit in your life, they also stifle creativity by dampening your enthusiasm for life, productivity and what have you. They make you an unhappy negative person who always spews perversion; a person that people want to avoid because almost all of your utterances are loaded with sarcasm, invectives, ill will and negative utterances including curses. You will be an unpleasant person that nobody wants to stay around.

People from diverse nationalities, royalty and intellectual backgrounds sought the presence and company of King Solomon because he had wisdom to dispel to people. King Solomon spoke wisdom and not curses, not invectives, not ill will and not sarcasm. He blessed people, humanity with his thought and utterances. People stayed around him and blessed him immensely with material and financial resources, some of which contributed immensely to his great wealth. Please read Proverbs Chapters 12 verses 14, 8, 18; 15 verses 1 to 2,4, 7, 28, 30; 16 verses 1, 13; 18 verses 4, 20 to 21; 17 verse 27, James Chapter 3, 1st Kings Chapters 3 verses 16 to 28, 4 verses 29 to 34, 10 verses 1 to 10, 24 to 29, 1st Chronicles Chapter 9 verses 1 to 9, 23 to 24.

Dead weights always impede progress. To start with, they are heavy to carry and therefore take a great toll; spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically and financially on whoever is carrying them. You might require help to carry them but no one really likes to give a helping hand especially when they are spiritual and emotional dead weights. The only Person Who would gladly help is Jesus Christ as long as the dead weights are handed over to Him completely so that He would take on the dead weights and you would take on His light weight of love, grace, compassion and kindness.

Dead weights always smell as they are susceptible to smell on account of rot. As they rot, they produce offensive smells which people run away from and as they run away from the smells, they actually avoid you, the carrier and harbinger of the smell. Have you ever noticed that people avoid sarcastic, rude, invective and nasty people for no other reason than these negative character traits?
