How prepared are you for a life transforming encounter with
God? God is good and He is willing to do you good but what are your
expectations and how prepared are you? The Bible says that the expectation of
the righteous shall not be cut short. Please see Proverbs Chapter 24 verse 14.
What is your expectation? Hannah was expectant thus she vowed. The woman with
the issue of blood was expectant and she was healed. BARTIMAEUS was hopeful and
when the opportunity came, he took advantage of it. Immediately, he received
his sight. Expectation triggers miracles. Please see Ephesians Chapter 3 verse
20.
Expect great things from God. God desires positive
expectations from His children, therefore always anticipate good things in
spite of your present circumstances and trials. Please see Jeremiah Chapter 29
verse 11, Proverbs Chapter 11 verse 23, Psalm 62 verses 5 to 6. As you expect unimaginable miracles that you
least expect; as you expect great things from God, the great and only God who
reigns over all, great things will happen to you in the mighty name of Jesus
Christ.
Jesus’ expectation in John Chapter 6 verses 1 to 15 was to
feed the multitudes despite not having any bread. God met and exceeded His
expectation by providing bread miraculously. The multitudes were not only fed
but there was a huge leftover.
The expectation of Bartimaeus was not cut short. He had
heard about Jesus and the great miracles Jesus was performing. Bartimaeus
therefore desired to see Jesus not just for the sake of seeing Jesus but to
have His sight restored so that He would see both Jesus and other people.
Bartimaeus’ expectation was met as his sight was restored the moment he
connected to Jesus.
The woman with the issue of blood had great expectations
that the affliction of twelve years would come to an end if only she could
touch the hem of Jesus’ garment. Her great expectations were met. She was
healed of an infirmity of twelve years that had defied medics and medications
without spending a dime. Quite significant and instructive is the fact that she
did not go amongst the crowds to be an onlooker or cheerleader or story teller.
She went with an expectation and that expectation was met. This is really
instructive for people who are onlookers or cheer leaders or story tellers of
other people’s achievements and successes in life. Do not watch the world go
by. Be an active participant in the game of life so that you can score your
goals, pass the connecting balls or whatever and succeed at what you were
created to do.
The expectation of the righteous which cannot be cut short
is based on the faithful and precious promises of God in His word to His
children. For instance, the Bible records in Psalm twenty three that surely
goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life and you will
dwell in the house of God forever. This implies that you will experience and
enjoy goodness and mercy from God all the days of your life that you live on
planet earth. The Lord will always shepherd you and as long as God always
shepherds you, it will always be to His goodness and mercy for your life in the
mighty name of Jesus Christ.
