Designed to Succeed - Be You

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

The angel told me to give Zerubbabel this message from the LORD: "You will succeed, not by military might or by your own strength, but by my spirit. Zechariah Chapter 4 verse 6 Good News Translation.

God has never failed and will never fail. Great food for thought! May be, may be not depending on the side of the divide you are in. But the truth irrespective of whatever divide you are in is that God does not fail and will never fail. That significantly says a lot about you. Why and how? You are created in the image of God, the Author of success meaning that even before you were born, God had designed and capacitated you for success. There is therefore absolutely no reason why you should not succeed. Success is in your DNA. IT IS YOUR BIRTHRIGHT and INHERITANCE which cannot be stolen no matter how hard the enemy tries. You are the only one who can stop YOU FROM SUCCEEDING.

You can become national and global assets to kings and nations if you know who exactly you are and why God put you on planet earth. David knew the you in him which explains why he could run after the wild beast that came preying on the family flock he kept. It was also this wonderful knowledge about who he was that empowered David, a mere youth to challenge; not only an experienced warrior but a giant who had successfully immobilized the entire army of Israel for forty days. David knew you, the you in him; he successfully brought Goliath down and the army of the Philistine that had held sway because of Goliath was overrun by the army of Israel. Please read 1st Samuel Chapter 17 for details and Holy Spirit inspired insight.

Mordecai knew the you in him and refused to literally worship Haman. Though Haman resorted to making the King agree to his decree to annihilate the Jews, Mordecai was not intimidated. He took on Haman in prayers and Haman and his household were destroyed.

Therefore, let loose the floodgates of success latent in you by being you. You never belonged by being them. You belonged by being you because they wanted to be like you. They needed the refreshing grace, vigor and life you brought to every situation. Why then do you want to be like them; to fit into their lifeless mold that is void of energy and power? It is the life and vigor you bring; the refreshing presence of God that makes the difference and which is what makes you relevant, significant and needed. Therefore, continue to be YOU and innovate on YOU rather than be a lifeless copy, an unsigned copy, an imitation of someone else. YOU are YOU and it is the YOU in YOU that will take you to the heights God designed for you from the foundation of the world. Therefore, do not stop being YOU.

Beautiful Pearls

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Pearls of wisdom, beauty and love
Stringed together lovingly
Designed to beautify, glorify and honor
Pearls of knowledge, understanding and depth
Pearls of favor, wealth and dignity
Mined from the depths of the WORD
Pearls, a girl’s desire and love
Representing purity, purity of soul
Of thoughts, imagination and desires
Pearls, befitting yet revealing
Colors, light, glow, ambience, iridescence
My pearls, beauty for ashes

Riches untold, hidden in secret places
Treasures in the midst of terrifying darkness
Hidden deep in the sands and the seas
With the precious things of the heavens and the earth
The encompassing and enriching but very satisfying favor of God
They are pearls of wisdom and love

Do Not Lose Your Identity 2

                                      Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Daniel was a very young man when he was conscripted into the court of King Nebuchadnezzar first as a trainee and later as a very important member of the court. Though Daniel outlived Nebuchadnezzar and other kings after Nebuchadnezzar such as BelShazzar, Darius the Mede and Cyrus, Daniel did not lose his identity as an Israelite. He refused to partake of the defiling delicacies of the King’s table and refused to stop praying to God even when a death sentence was issued against anyone who prayed to another god within thirty days. Daniel knew that Jehovah was and will always be God over all gods. So he ignored their threats and maintained his normal routine of communion with God. Though Daniel was eventually thrown into the den of lions, the Bible records that he was unscathed as the lions did not touch him. But when the conspirators were thrown into that same den of lions, they were immediately devoured by the lions. Please read Daniel Chapter 6. Daniel could have chosen to blend in with the people he interacted with; the people he was compelled to learn their language, culture and religion while he was in training for three years and most importantly while he was in service so he could probably be promoted. But Daniel chose to be Daniel, an obedient child of God and because he did not lose his identity, he prospered and was honored. But most importantly, Daniel’s refusal to lose his identity in obedience to God helped to entrench the worship of God in the kingdoms he served.

Do Not Lose Your Identity

“Issachar is no better than a donkey   That lies stretched out between its saddlebags.  But he sees that the resting place is good And that the land is delightful. So he bends his back to carry the load and is forced to work as a slave.    Good News Translation

“Issachar is a rawboned[f] donkey lying down among the sheep pens.  When he sees how good is his resting place and how pleasant is his land, he will bend his shoulder to the burden and submit to forced labor. NIV

“Issachar is a strong donkey,    crouching between the sheepfolds.  He saw that a resting place was good, and that the land was pleasant, so he bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant at forced labor. English Standard Version (ESV)

Issachar is a strong donkey, lying down between the sheepfolds. He saw that his resting place was good and that his land was pleasant, so he bent his shoulder to the burden and submitted to labor as a servant.… Berean Study Bible

The Bible records in Genesis Chapter 49 verse 14 that Issachar lost his identity and mission in life to a pleasant land and the supposedly rest that the pleasant land provided. Unfortunately, Issachar became a band of slaves over a period of time. Issachar who was divinely designed to provide leadership direction and influence (2nd Chronicles Chapter 12 verse 32) sold himself and his generation to slavery. Fortunately, God showed them mercy and restored their leadership role in Israel.
