Dare to Succeed

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Break barriers, leapfrog limitations, rein in your thoughts and emotions, refuse to be overwhelmed and overburdened by situations that appear to be challenging and intimidating by controlling your thoughts and emotions and focusing on your God given goal to succeed in His plans and purposes for your life. Please see Joshua Chapter 1 verse 8, Deuteronomy Chapter 28 verses 12 to 13.

Ignore catcalls and sniggers, whispers, deliberate provocations from people and situations determined to stop you from making progress. Instead, pay attention to your goal. Nehemiah ignored all the contrivances of Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem and their other cohorts. The gates of Jerusalem were rebuilt and repaired. Please see the book of Nehemiah. Ezra and his fellow workmen under the leadership of Zerubabbel, Governor of Judah completed the task of rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem despite the stiff opposition to the task. They chose to and dared to succeed. Please read the entire book of Ezra for great insight into this amazing story of a people’s determination and courage to succeed in spite of all odds.

The Power of Quality Dressence

Written by Uyoyou Christiana Charles-Iyoha

Quality dressence is an asset that anyone should aspire to own. It not only sets you apart from the crowd; it also gives you grace and elegance. Grooming and dresence to an extent reflects a person’s psyche – whether a person is happy, depressed, vain, proud, lacks or has a healthy self esteem, God or not. Great grooming, dressence and taste are cultivated. They take conscious regular practice and once acquired, deliberate conscious efforts should be made to enhance and sustain it.

A person’s grooming and dressence to an extent, in fact a large extent is a reflection of where the person is headed in life. Some cuts and style of clothes reflect rigidity and a refusal to move with the times.

Your dressence and personal grooming communicates and sends out strong signals about your personality, attitudes, your strengths, weaknesses, attitudes. The repertoire of your dressence  and personal grooming is a pointer to whether you love yourself, care about and love other people, respect authority it is also an indication of your power, success, confidence, self respect, dignity or failure.

Beloved, the key questions I pose to you as I close this piece is what do you communicate through your dress and personal grooming? Do you communicate  strengths, weaknesses, failure, successes, abundance, lack, hope, frustration, confidence, excellence, diligence, carelessness, love, hate, faith, dejection, rejection, I can never succeed, I can always succeed and I am a success study, wealth, poverty, intelligence, stupidity? The list is endless.

How you package and present yourself communicates to the world who you are on the outside. Therefore do not ever communicate poverty and lack, failure, worries and anxiety, frustration and rejection through your dressence and personal grooming.

Rather communicate confidence, elegance, style, poise and panache as well as excellence and abundance through your dressence and personal grooming as you walk through and take your permanent slot on Success Street. Shalom
